I'm a Force of Nature.
~ Scout's catchphrase and egotistical quote in his meet the team video.
Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one.
~ Satoru Gojo's most famous quote.

Heroes who exhibit extreme amounts of vanity, self-absorption, egomania, and narcissism. They love themselves so much and are so incredibly convinced of their own self-worth that they tend to constantly think that they are more important and special than anyone else is, always think extremely highly of themselves, try to convince other people to see how great they are, and believe they're the greatest thing ever (even if they are or are not as much as they believe). How selfish and egocentric they are may be shown as a way to provide a fatal flaw to be overcome in the narrative or may indeed just be part of the hero's core personality, living in awe of their own perceived power/glory and how amazing they think they are.

Egotists are often the direct opposite of selfless heroes and are the good counterparts of egotistical villains. However, it's quite rare for an egotist to be selfless or otherwise sympathetic unless they fully meet the criteria or are shown to be truly supportive of others with an altruistic drive to help others and thinking of the lives of others despite their narcissistic behavior (ex. Gumball Watterson, Mr. Satan, Neru Mikamo, Morgana (Persona), Satoru Gojo, Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic Boom), Wild Woody, Alhaitham, Amelia Jane, Mr. Bumpy, Aira Shiratori, and Tengen Uzui).

This category should not be confused with arrogant heroes. As similar as both categories may sound, the difference is that egotists are just obsessed with themselves to a fault, where arrogant heroes are just characterized with excessive pride and overconfidence. However, both categories are very easy to overlap with each other, and while an arrogant hero is not necessarily egotistical, the inverse is always true.

NOTE: By default, egotists believe they are more important than anyone else, thus putting themselves first before others. Therefore, Pure Good heroes can never fall under this category since they often care about others first instead of themselves. If those Pure Goods have been egotists once, they would've had already been reformed. However, do note that everyone puts themselves first sometimes. Heroes who merely put their needs before others every once in a while do not count as egotists, as it is only natural for them to care about their personal well-being as much as they care about others.
