Fictionalized

Heroes in this category were based on real people or true events, but fictionalized and exaggerated in the process. Any historical hero who was portrayed by an actor in a film dramatization belongs here; however, fictional depictions of actual people who aren't really good at all and which have no basis in reality do not.

IMPORTANT: This does NOT include completely fictional characters that were merely INSPIRED by real people (i.e. Iron Man was inspired by the engineer Howard Hughes and Popeye was reportedly based on a bartender from E.C. Segar's hometown) or NAMED after them (i.e. the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are each named after a Renaissance painter and The Simpsons creator Matt Groening named Homer after his father). THIS CATEGORY IS ONLY FOR CHARACTERS WITH ACTUAL HISTORICAL EXISTENCE.
