Martyrs or Self-Sacrificers have somehow given up their very existences to save the day, usually through self-sacrificial means. They do not necessarily have to end up or stay dead afterwards in order to qualify but must have genuinely tried to make it look like that would be the case.

These are the heroes who had to die (or seemingly had to) to bring peace, and they are the opposite of Virtually Resourceful.
