This unique twosome fights together as a team. Your score will not be affected if the CPU-controlled character is KO'd, but a lone Ice Climber won't be able to use teamwork moves, which will make for a tough and frantic solo fight.
~ The description of the Ice Climbers' trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Partners in Justice are a duo (e.g. The Minecraft Players or Ice Climbers), trio (e.g. Powerpuff Girls or The Bears), or quartet (e.g. Buzzie, Flaps, Ziggy and Dizzy), of heroic characters who work together to bring justice. These heroes are almost always capable of destroying huge groups of enemies. Several of these heroes are sidekicks to the Big Good and are often bumbling. They almost always get along with/like and are loyal to each other, but that does not stop them from occasionally having problems with and/or challenging each other, and even going as far as betraying each other.

Like Organizations, Teams and/or Families, these heroes must stick together with each other at all costs to serve very important purposes and have their power to their fullest, as losing one or more members in a duo/trio/quartet would lead to severe consequences to the remaining members. To further contribute this, individual heroes of this category either mostly do not have the strength to challenge other villains by themselves and/or prone to foiling their heroic plans, thus requiring a partner in hand for them to prevent them from believing they do not have what it takes to accomplish their goals.

Popular examples include:

  • Ice Climbers: Their teamwork is what makes the Ice Climbers a powerful duo. If one Ice Climber (Nana, by default) gets lost/separated from the other Ice Climber (Popo, by default), the remaining Ice Climber's skills and fighting effectiveness are drastically downgraded, they lose access to Belay and a once powerful Squall Hammer if the Ice Climbers were together. Due to these handicaps, a lone Ice Climber cannot fight nearly as effectively by themselves.
  • The Bears: Grizz Bear is the dreaded, very reliable and protective leader of the bears, Panda Bear is the truth-seeking and hyperaware genius who is "the link that holds them all together," stated by Grizz, and Ice Bear is the most reliable of the bears due to his mix of intelligence, hyperawareness, protection and dreaded fighting skills. Without any one of them, the remaining bears would feel meaningless and insecure by themselves as they would feel like they lack what it takes to accomplish their goals and defeat other villains.
  • Powerpuff Girls: Blossom's genius-level intelligence and leadership, Bubbles's voice of reason and harmonizing personality, and Buttercup being the most reliable and strongest fighter of the trio is what makes the Powerpuff Girls a powerful trio. Without any one of the Powerpuff Girls, they would potentially be incompetent in their heroism due to their corrupting factors, such as Blossom's arrogance, Bubbles and Buttercup's dimwitted and egotistic personality, respectively, combined with the girls being lethal as well. They would also feel too insecure and worthless without each other by their side.

These heroes the opposite of Partners in Crime.

Notes[]

  • These heroes have a chance to be Pure Good if all two/three/four of the individuals meet the criteria to qualify for the category.
    • Keep in mind that Partners in Training who are Pure Good MUST personally care for one another (which also include Siblings). The main reason these Pure Goods are always together as Partners are mainly their mutual selflessness, not just pursuing their equal or similar goals.
  • If the pair has permanently broken up, or betrays one another with no chance of reunification, then this category cannot be added.
  • Add only duos, trios, or quartets to this category. Individual heroes and teams of more than four heroes do not count. If there are more than four characters paired up at once, they should go under Organizations, Teams, and/or Families instead (though Mutant Toys is the exception for some reason).
