Heroes whose main goal is to obtain more power, be it actual or political power. Unlike their villainous counterparts, they seek power for the sake of saving their homes and/or loved ones. However, their desire may end up causing them to fall into darkness.

NOTE: Pure Good can only qualify if their desire for power doesn't lead to selfish greed or if they want said power for a selfless purpose (i.e Goku, Buer). (please see Benevolent Rulers).
