Rarity, who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift represents the spirit of… generosity!
~ Twilight Sparkle
By remembering that I serve others, Mr. Sparrow, not only myself.
~ Commodore James Norrington.

These are pretty much the opposite of egotistical heroes and villains. These are heroes who care more about other people's life instead of having an ego. They will put themselves in trouble to save others, even if they are a villain or enemy. They would even be willing to sacrifice their own life to save another or more.

By default, all Pure Goods are selfless due to doing heroic acts to benefit others in need more than themselves. However, this does not make all selfless heroes Pure Goods. It's possible for Near Pure Goods to have some level of arrogance, rudeness or other negative trait and still remain selfless by default if they meet all the criteria.

They are also the heroic counterpart of Greedy villains and opposite of Obsessed heroes, although obsessed heroes can still be selfless and even Pure Good.
