Catherine is a playable character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes in the Azure Gleam route. She is a member of the Knights of Seiros and a teacher at the Officers Academy. She serves as a minor protagonist in Azure Moon, Verdant Wind and Silver Snow, and the secondary antagonist in Crimson Flower.
She is voiced by Chie Matsuura in Japanese and Laura Post in English.

Past[]
Catherine, born Cassandra, lived in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. She attended the Officers Academy in the Blue Lions House with her best friend Christophe. One day, she and her classmates were tasked with killing monsters, but they were ambushed and she almost died. Rhea saved her and took care of her to recover her health. Shortly after graduation, she became involved in a plot to kill the king and had to leave the kingdom as an outlaw. She sought safety at the Garreg Mach Monastery, where Rhea took her in and made Cassandra a knight. Cassandra then changed her name to Catherine. She was also responsible for the capture and execution of Christophe during this period to the Knights of Seiros. The incident will haunt her for the rest of her life.
Silver Snow/Azure Moon/Verdant Wind[]
Catherine remained in the Knights of Seiros, helping Byleth and others to end the war with the Adrestian Empire and find Rhea. On the Azure Moon route, she is pleased to see that Rhea is alive, albeit weak. When Rhea steps down as archbishop, Catherine may accompany her and her husband to Zanado, depending on the ending.
On the journey of the Verdant Wind, Catherine leaves the Knights of Seiros and becomes an itinerant mercenary, grieving over Rhea's death. Depending on Rhea's demise, Catherine may choose to settle down with her husband.
The Silver Snow route applies both Azure Moon and Verdant Wind endings to Catherine, depending on whether Byleth received A-rank support with Rhea.
Crimson Flower[]
Catherine appears as an enemy in the Crimson Flower route and cannot be recruited.
Catherine is disgusted of Byleth's decision to side with Edelgard and protects Rhea from the Empire. She and the other members of the Church of Seiros are defeated and were forced to retreat.
Catherine accompanies Rhea to recapture Garreg Mach from the Empire, fighting the great forces who intercepted them. The attack was intended to prevent Seteth's expedition from recapturing the monastery, but the plan fell through when the army was defeated by the Black Eagles. If both Seteth and Flayn were spared by Byleth, Catherine gives Rhea a letter from Seteth.
Following the Imperial victory on Tailtean Plains, Rhea/Seiros retreated to the capital of the Kingdom of Fhirdiad, where Catherine and Cyril were waiting. Edelgard orders the church to surrender and live, and waits for their response before attacking. Catherine tells Rhea/Seiros that the Empire is waiting for their response, and says she will remain loyal to her to the end. Rhea/Seiros then orders her and Cyril to set fire to the city. Catherine gets shocked, initially becomes reluctant to set the city on fire, and suggests they retreat and reorganize their forces and fight the next day. Rhea/Seiros refuses and repeats her order to burn the city, which Catherine reluctantly complies with.
Catherine later meets her demise in Fhirdiad, although she can be spared if the Immaculate One was defeated first.
