Cavendish (One Piece)

Cavendish is the former prince of Bourgeois Kingdom and the Captain of the Beautiful Pirates. He later became the first Commander of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.

History[]

Background[]

Cavendish was the former prince of Bourgeois Kingdom. He grew up with his loyal Farul and the two had a close bond ever since.

Years later, he was run out of his country for being too popular because the women refused to marry. He left his home with 500,000,000 in sum and seventy-four of his loyal followers joining him on the sea.

After an incident in a kingdom, where several civilians and marines became victims of his alter-ego Hakuba, Cavendish decided to become a pirate and his followers became the Beautiful Pirates. He did this because he like the attention.

He made it to the New World, a year before the battle of Marineford and was relatively infamous, as Portgas D. Ace heard of him. However, his fame was subsided by the emergence of the Worst Generation, which consisted of eleven rookie pirates and Blackbeard. Cavendish vowed to kill them all for taking away his fame.

Dressrosa Arc[]

While witnessing Usopp's battle with Trebol and Sugar, he voiced how he didn't want to be a toy forever and begged Usopp to succeed while promising not to go after Luffy if he can change him back. When Sugar's curse broke, Cavendish transformed back to normal and was seen happy at being human again. He was later gathered with the other former slaves, as Harjudin showed them Usopp to reveal he was their savior.

When Doflamingo initiated the birdcage, Cavendish and the gladiators returned to the surface. He later found Luffy, Zoro, and Law on the streets, following an attempt on Law he revealed he had dropped his grudge because of Usopp and extends this to Law.

He later allowed Suleiman join his crew, though was annoyed by the latter not addressing him as Captain. He soon revealed to Luffy that he and the gladiators decided to join the Straw Hats by becoming their grand fleet.

Appearance[]

He is a tall young man with long blonde hair and was considered handsome by most women.

He wore a long white coat, a cowboy hat, purple pants, and brown boots.

Personality[]

Cavendish is a vain individual, who hold great animosity to those of the Worst Generation, desiring to kill each of them, solely for the reason, or rather delusion, that they "stole" attention from him. Indeed, he made several attempts on Luffy and Law for simply being part of that group.

Due to his previous royal status, he prefers fancy meals, best shown when he made a makeshift meal with a tablecloth and wine served as a main course and had it provide a waiter.

However, he is an honorable person, as he defended Rebecca from the jeers of the crowd and kept to his word of ceasing any plans to kill Luffy should Usopp turn him human even extending this to Law after Luffy called him a friend. He also protected Robin's group at Luffy's request, due to mistaking the latter's comment of being his fan.

Powers and Abilities[]

Being a skilled warrior, he held tremendous strength and was able to hold back Don Chinjao, a massive human with his blade and not struggle.

The Marines have even commented that he is skilled swordsman and called him a genius.

He is a skilled horseman, being able to navigate Farul through and around difficult terrain, even to the point of impossibility.

When awakened his alter ego Hakuba, he was quite fast and easily decimated several his opponents with nobody seeing. He also cut down Dellinger, a fast individual in his own right who could not even react to being slashed.
