Professor Cecil B. Heimerdinger, also known as The Revered Inventor, is a heroic playable character in multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends, and a major character in the spin-off game Hextech Mayhem, appearing as the rival of Ziggs. He is also one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Vander) of the Netflix animated spin-off prequel series Arcane.
An eccentric Yordle scientist, Heimerdinger has made a name for himself as a professor at the Academy of Piltover, as well as one of the city's founders and most innovative minds. He is also the mentor of Jayce, and later on Ekko.
He was voiced by Dennis Collins Johnson in his original release, and is currently voiced by Jason Palmer. In Arcane, he is voiced by Mick Wingert, who voiced the flowers in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Zeng in the Kung Fu Panda franchise.
Biography[]
As a yordle, Heimerdinger is a being who can live for centuries, and at a certain point he must have left Bandle City to live in Runeterra. From his flashbacks, it is suggested that he witnessed that cataclysmic Rune Wars firsthand. This left Heimerdinger forever fearful of magic, and to establish a safe haven for himself and others in Runeterra he became one of the founding fathers of Piltover, the City of Progress.
Heimerdinger made a name for himself as one of the most innovative minds and esteemed inventors in the world. Under his leadership, the Council of Piltover would develop their city to become one of the most technologically advanced and prosperous in Runeterra. Under his mentorship, students at the Piltover Academy would flourish as he sought to cultivate the most brilliant minds their city had to offer. Heimerdinger always cherished his students and his people, but as an immortal being, his sense of time was never fully in sync with that of humans. As the decades passed, Heimerdinger's lack of urgency made him largely unaware of the harsh realities that plagued his beloved City of Progress, which would further divisions over the decades between Topside and the Undercity.
Roughly two hundred years after the city's foundation, a bright Academy student of Heimerdinger's named Jayce Talis was arrested for unauthorized experimentation. Heimerdinger sent his assistant, Viktor to collect Jayce and any other unauthorized materials from his apartment. Heimerdinger gave Jayce confessed that he was researching a way to safely utilize magic to power mechanical devices and tools, a theory he called "Hextech".

- H-28 G Evolution Turret - Heimerdinger creats a pair of rapid-fire cannon turrets equipped with a secondary pass-through beam attack that deal half damage to towers.
- Hextech Micro-Rockets - Heimerdinger fires long-range rockets that converge on his cursor.
- CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade - Heimerdinger lobs a grenade at a location which damages the health of any enemy units, as well as stuns anyone directly hit by it and slowing surrounding units.
- UPGRADE!!! - Heimerdinger invents an upgrade which increases the effects of his next spell.
