Changemen

The Changemen are the titular main protagonistic group of Dengeki Sentai Changeman. They are all former members of the various branches of Japanese military who were selected by the Earth Defense Force to combat Great Star League Gozma. As the Changemen, they derive their powers from mysterious energy called Earthforce, which gives its users the power to protect Earth from any threat to it. Their leader is Hiryu Tsurugi.

Dengeki Sentai Changeman[]

When the Great Star League Gozma set their sight on Earth, the Japanese military army form the Earth Defense Force, whose members are trained cruelly under Commander Ibuki. When the Gozma begins to attack Earth, they decide to eliminate those who pose the greatest threats: the military.

Meanwhile, the Earth Defense Force's members are fed up with Ibuki's cruel training and start to leave, only to be attacked by them. Five members: Hiryu Tsurugi, Yuma Ozora, Sho Hayate, Sayaka Nagisa and Mai Tsubasa, refusing to retreat, gather together and are thus empowered by the Earth with its force, giving them mythological beasts' powers, turning them into the Changemen. Under Ibuki's guidance, Yuma and his teammates fight against the Gozma to save the Earth.

After defeating the Gozma, the team discover its leader, Star King Bazeu's master plan: hurling a planetoid known as the Gozma Star towards Earth by hiding it behind the tail of Halley's Comet, intending to use it to destroy Earth. Despite Bazeu's effort to prevent them from discovering his true location, they alongside their extraterrestrial allies manage to find out the Gozma Star and battle Bazeu on it. The planetoid then swallows the Changemen and Ibuki, and within its stomach they realize that it is in fact Bazeu's true form. The Changemen blast a hole in Bazeu's stomach and get Gyodai to enlarge the Memory Doll for them to ride, allowing them to escape. They then form the Change Robo, plow through Bazeu, destroy his core and blow up the Gozma Star, ending the intergalactic conqueror once and for all.

After everything is over, the Changemen bid a farewell to their friends, including Ibuki, who decides to travel across the universe restoring the planets that had been brought to ruin by the Gozma.

Later appearances[]

In Kousoku Sentai Turboranger, the Changemen join Battle Fever J, Denzimen, Sun Vulcan, Goggle V, Dynamen, Biomen, Flashmen, Maskmen and Livemen, standing behind the Turborangers, facing the Hundred Boma Tribes.

Years later in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, the 34 Super Sentai teams, including the Changemen, are summoned to oppose the Zangyack Empire's invasion on Earth. They manag to defeat the ground forces, but then Akarenger told everyone to combine their powers against its fleet. They successfully destroy the fleet at the cost of their own powers, which reappeared on Ranger Keys and spread throughout the universe. AkaRed then collect the keys and give it to the Gokaigers. The most powers of the Changemen was originally taken by Basco ta Jolokia, who destroyed the Earth Defense Force to obtain it and eventually took it from an unidentified male EDF member. After the death of Basco, Sho awards it to the Gokaigers. They then return the Ranger Keys after finally defeating Zangyack, before leaving the Earth to find the second greatest treasure in the universe, allowing the Super Sentai to regain their powers.

In Super Hero Taisen, the Changemen and most Super Sentai heroes pretend to be defeated by Kamen Rider Decade, who is apparently looking for the Sentai teams, and are presumably pushed to the dimensional rift. When he and Marvelous's captain's tricks are revealed, the Changemen appear with other super teams through the size wall object, and team up with all other Sentai teams and Kamen Riders against Dai-Shocker and Dai-Zangyack.
