Charles Barkley is the main protagonist of the titular video game Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden.

History

Sometime in 2029, Charles Barkley performed a Chaos Dunk in a basketball game in New York inadvertently killing all spectators. This results to basketball being banned worldwide. Barkley's wife, Maureen was among those who died in the Chaos Dunk incident and the only sole survivor is their son, Hoopz.

Barkley swored never to perform the Chaos Dunk again and fast forward to 2041, lives with his son Hoopz in an apartment in Neo-New York until another Chaos Dunk in Manhattan killed millions. Barkley was blamed by the B-Ball Removal Department led by Michael Jordan which enforces the basketball ban in the world.

Barkley then joined forces with Balthios James, Cyberdwarf and his son Hoopz. Barkley makes it sure that no one ever performs a Chaos Dunk ever again. It is rumored that the group, B.L.O.O.D.M.O.S.E.S. plans to use the Ultimate B-Ball, the same basketball featured in Space Jam to perform a Chaos Dunk.

In the climax of the game, Barkley and company faced the true leader of B.L.O.O.D.M.O.S.E.S. in the space ship Necron 5 - Shadow Barkley who plans to replace all of humanity with Barkley clones after wiping them out with a Chaos Dunk. Defeating Shadow Barkley but doing nothing to stop the imminent Chaos Dunk by B.L.O.O.D.M.O.S.E.S.. Barkley performed a Chaos Dunk himself destroying Necron 5 and Shadow Barkley but not before Hoopz and Cyberdwarf left Necron 5 through an escape pod.

Personality

Barkley claims to have little regard to the welfare of other people having lived in a basketball-free dystopia and only helps if it advances his own goals or benefits his son. He is a loving father to Hoopz and is loyal to his wife Maureen. He would never enter in a romantic relationship with any woman even after his wife's death.

The ban on basketball left Barkley feeling nostalgic towards basketball. His passion for basketball never died down.

He narrates that his tough talk is just a facade and is in fact insecure. This led to him performing the first Chaos Dunk for fear of losing the game in front of his son who is watching his first basketball game.

Powers and abilities

Barkley wields a ball which he uses in basketball-based attacks. Later in the game he gains the Ghost Muscle ability which empowers him with the power of ghosts. By the latter part of the game, he has gained the ability to wield two basketballs at the same time.

His Chaos Dunk ability is a powerful move which generates and earthquake and has the potential to kill many people.
