Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: "With great power comes great responsibility."

Charles Wallace Murry is a major character in Madeleine L'Engle's Time Quintet book series, introduced as the deuteragonist of the first book A Wrinkle in Time and its film adaptations. He is the youngest son of Dr. Alex Murry and Meg Murry's younger brother, characterized as a highly intelligent child prodigy. After the mysterious disappearance of his father, Charles Wallace goes on a journey across the universe to rescue him along with Meg and their schoolmate Calvin, aided by his new friends and cosmic protectors Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which.
He was portrayed by David Dorfman in the 2003 TV film and by Deric McCabe in the 2018 theatrical film.
Appearance[]
Charles Wallace is a little boy with brown hair. Though he is originally portrayed as resembling both his parents and Meg, the 2018 film portrayed him as an adopted child.
Personality[]
Charles Wallace is a compassionate, brilliant and courageous boy with the mind of a savant, depicted as one of the brightest minds of his age and perhaps human history as evidenced by his interactions with the Mrs. W's. He is very affectionate and caring towards his family, often preparing milk for his sister Meg at night and comforting her about her insecurities ever since their father's leave. He is regarded as very abnormal by his peers, with his teachers viewing him as some sort of eccentric genius with talent for science and a socially awkward personality. Some viewers have theorized that Charles Wallace is on the autism spectrum.
Charles Wallace can come off as arrogant at times, which is a character flaw that IT exploited in order to brainwash him but his love for his sister and his whole family was so strong it allowed Meg to get through and bring him back into the light.
