Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Charles Xavier's past, but he was born a mutant with the ability to read the mind of others. Due to his telepathic mind, he was offered a position in the Illuminati by Supreme Strange. During Thanos' campaign, the Illuminati worked together to put an end to his quest to wipe out half of the universe. Strange would go on his own to find a way to stop Thanos, and used the Darkhold to dream-walk in the multiverse. After his plan and caused the destruction of a universe, Strange returned to the team and they discovered the ancient text called the Book of Vishanti. The mad Titan met his end on his home planet by the team, whom had to make the hard choice of executing Strange after he admitted his previous actions.
Following the incident, Professor X became the team's new leader, and decided to cover up Strange's death by telling the public he was killed battling Thanos. The team also decided to bring in a new member with Karl Mordo, whom was also became Stephen's successor as sorcerer supreme.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness[]
When Doctor Strange and America Chavez arrive on Earth-838, the Illuminati had him apprehended and brought to their headquarters to vote on his fate. During the trial, the team explained to Strange of an incursion event and what happened to their version of the sorcerer, with Xavier showing Strange what happened on Titan. When Scarlet Witch arrived to capture Chavez, Professor X and Mordo remained with Strange as the others went to confront Maximoff. Stephen then pleaded his innocence and Xavier believed him, relating his motto that no was one was truly lost off their path. Before leaving to confront Maximoff, Charles revealed the location of the Book of Vishanti and gave the sorcerer some advice.
Confronting Maximoff, Professor X used his telepathic powers to enter the witch's mind to break her control over her Earth-838 counterpart. Within her subconscious, Xavier came across Wanda trapped under rubble and attempted to free her, but she was taken away as Scarlet Witch killed Charles by ripping his head off. Following his death, Mordo was the only surviving member of the defunct team as the witch continued her pursuit of Chavez.
