Biography[]

Stefani returns home feeling a mix of urgency and confusion. She asks her father about Iris Campbell, a woman Marty has never met in person, but Howard knows her well. With a sense of foreboding, she heads to her uncle’s house with her younger brother, Charlie. At the funeral, their mother arrives, bringing a wave of sorrow with her. As Stefani tries to slip away from the oppressive atmosphere, Charlie stops her, wanting to comfort their mother and hash out the reality of their loss.

Later on, Charlie attends a cookout at the Campbell house, where laughter and fun abound. However, the atmosphere quickly turns grim when a horrendous accident occurs—Howard Campbell is tragically killed when his head is caught in a lawnmower, leaving the family in shock.

Stefani senses a dark pattern emerging and calls a family meeting. She explains that death is now targeting their family, especially since Howard, being the oldest, has fallen. The curse, she believes, began with Iris, who had defied death for years. Stefani warns that the oldest members must go first—Howard, followed by Julia and Bobby, with Darlene, herself, and Charlie next in line.

The next morning, Stefani wakes up worried when she realizes Charlie and Erik haven't checked in since last night. Her concerns are somewhat reassured when they find out he’s fine, with only minor burns. However, her anxiety rises again when she hears about Julia's jogging accident; a soccer ball hits her, and in a frantic chase with Stefani and Erik to save her, horror strikes again as Julia is crushed by a garbage truck compactor.

The family visits the hospital at the suggestion of JB, who turns out to be William Bludworth, a man with a chilling understanding of life and death. He reveals that he’s had unsettling premonitions since childhood and has spent years discussing their fate with Iris. William explains that there are two main ways to defeat Death: by taking another life or by finding a way to break the cycle. With Iris’s impending death, he warns the family it's only a matter of time before Death comes for them, especially as Iris’s bloodline dwindles.

In an attempt to find an alternative solution, Stefani seeks out different ideas, while Erik and Bobby come up with their plans. Meanwhile, the Reyes family searches for the Campbells, but they meet a gruesome end at the hands of Death. With the Campbells gone, the Reyes family is the last remaining group still fighting. Stefani recalls a remote cabin where Iris has been living for years—believing it may be their only chance to escape Death. They venture through the forest to reach the cabin, but as they arrive, they realize it's moving, a manifestation of Death's relentless pursuit.

Stefani bursts through the gates, only for her belt to snag, leaving her vulnerable. Just as Charlie and Darlene try to get to the cabin the cabin explodes due to a malfunctioning gas line. In a heroic moment, Darlene pushes Charlie to safety just before being crushed by a falling lamppost, Charlie, traumatized but determined, discovers an overturned RV and races to pull Stefani from the wreckage. He performs CPR, desperately bringing her back to life, believing that their survival means they have somehow managed to beat Death’s.

A few weeks later, Reyes takes Charlie to meet Jenny at her house for their prom date, eager to impress both her and her father. However, the evening takes a dark turn when Jenny's brother reveals a terrifying truth: Jenny isn’t dead because her heart never actually stopped. This revelation sends chills through them all, as it becomes clear that Death is still hunting down Iris’s bloodline, Suddenly, chaos erupts as a train derails nearby, careening towards their neighborhood. As the ground shakes and screams fill the air, several massive logs tumble down from the wreckage, falling directly onto Stefani and Charlie, crushing them instantly.
