Background[]

An infant Charlie and Sammy with their parents.
Charlotte “Charlie” Emily was born on May 13, 1980 alongside her twin brother Sammy to their father Henry Emily and an unnamed woman. When she was a toddler, her father as well as his business partner William Afton owned a small local restaurant in New Harmony, Utah called Fredbear’s Family Diner which Charlie and her brother would spend a lot of time in. One day when they were three years old they were playing in the costume closet at the diner when William walked in wearing his Spring Bonnie suit. He proceeded to kidnap Charlie and murder her but he somehow got away with the crime. This crime ultimately shattered Henry and his family. His wife divorced him and took their son Sammy and moved away leaving Henry completely alone. In his grief he began to cry into his daughter’s porcelain doll Ella somehow imbuing the object with his own agony.
Henry realized this and decided to rebuild his daughter to cope with his pain. He built four android replicas of Charlie each one representing a stage of her life. The first a toddler, the second a kid, the third a teenager and the fourth a fully grown woman. He even used devices called Illusion Discs which altered brainwaves to make her look more lifelike. Growing up the duplicate Charlie lived as a normal girl completely unaware and of her true origins and was under the impression her brother Sammy was the one who was kidnapped and killed. This was because Henry actually fabricated many of her early childhood memories using a camera and a tripod. Charlie and her father then moved to the small town of Hurricane, Utah where Henry and William founded a new restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Eventually she made various friends in the form of Carlton Burke, Marla, Jessica, her childhood crush John, Lamar and a boy named Michael Brooks. The gang would have the privilege of hanging out at Freddy’s a lot seeing as how they were friends with the owners daughter.
However in July of 1985, William lured away and murdered five kids at Freddy’s, one of which was Michael. Shortly afterwards Henry committed suicide out of grief and Charlie was taken in by her aunt Jen. The two then moved away from Hurricane and left everything behind.
The Silver Eyes[]

Charlie returning to her old home for the first time in ten years.
Ten years after the horrific murders that took place at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, Charlie now seventeen years old returns to her hometown of Hurricane to attend a memorial dedicated to her late friend Michael. On the drive there she notices that she has time before she needs to meet her friends and decides to visit her childhood home. While she is there she looks at the old toys her father made for her. Theodore a pink bunny that could wave it's hand and play a message of Henry saying "I love you Charlie", a porcelain doll named Ella which moved on a track to deliver tea to her, and Stanley a small unicorn that moved on wheels. She reminisces about her days as a child and the time she used to spend with her father. She then leaves the house and goes to the local diner where her childhood friends are waiting. She arrives and catches up with her old friends and what they have been doing all these years. Apparently, Jessica has been living in New York City, John has become an aspiring writer, and as for Carlton his family ended up staying in Hurricane despite everything that happened. Charlie and the other ponder about the upcoming memorial and discuss why Michael parents stayed in Hurricane to begin with considering what happened to their son there. Charile theorizes they stayed because they held on to the hope that Michael could still be alive and eventually return home even if it was unlikely. John then asks about what became of Freddy's after it closed. Although the question is a sensitive one Charlie insists Carlton answer it. Carlton reveals that a mall was built over the restaurant a while ago but construction stalled and the place was abandoned. Charlie then decides to excuse herself outside for a minute to escape the pressure of the conversation.

Charlie and her friends reminisce about Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
She sadly ponders the fact they they ultimately talked about such serious topics even though she wanted to avoid them. John comes outside and gives Charlie back her jacket as she left it behind. Jessica and Carlton exit the diner and the four talk about the good times they use to have at Freddy's when they were kids. Charlie claims that she remembers various things about Freddy's, eating the pizza, drawing on placemats, writing nonsense on the walls and hugging Freddy so much his yellow fur would get stuck on her clothes. However Jessica and Carlton point out that Freddy was brown to which Charlie embarrassed corrects herself. Charlie asks Carlton if actually knows what happened to Freddy's but he insists he never looked into it because he has no reason doing so. John then suggests that they all go to Freddy's again for old times sake. Although Carlton is against it Charlie agrees with John and they agree to go. They sneak into the abandoned mall and briefly evade the establishments night guard. They then enter the restaurant through the backdoor by moving the cabinet blocking it. Once they enter they come face to face with the old animatronic band on the showstage. Freddy, Bonnie and Chica. They explore the restaurant and reminisce about the good old days. They then decide to pay a visit to Pirate Cove to meet Foxy. Just as they are about to remove the curtain they hear strange music coming from somewhere in the building and then a loud clanging sound. It turns out to be Carlton who accidentally knocked over some pots in the kitchen.

Charlie sadly looks at Michael's mementos during his memorial.
The gang decide to leave fearing the night guard may have heard them. Once they get outside they laugh and realize that they were still the same kids as back then only older. The gang then split up and agree to meet again tomorrow. Jessica and Charlie then stay at local motel and rest up for the memorial the next day. Charlie then has a dream of when she was a child ten years ago. As she is playing in her father's workshop she notices a strange endoskeleton on the cabinet. She asks if it " hurts" to which Henry not listening asks if she said something to which she lies and says it’s nothing. She then wakes up in the morning to the sound of someone knocking on the motel door. It's Marla who greets her and brings along her younger brother Jason who is to busy playing a video game to talk to them. They then meet up at the diner with Carlton and John again and notice that Lamar has tagged along. After breakfast they finally attend Michael's memorial. Joan, Michael's mother thanks Charlie and her friends for coming and gives a speech about all the lives Michael has touched even with his short time on earth. She claims that the scholarship she is giving away is a means to give Michael a legacy but she notes that it seems Michael has left one on his own. After the memorial is over Charlie see's a table filled with Michael's old drawings and becomes saddened. Charlie notes that it's not fair that Michael life was taken at such a young age. The gang then tell Lamar and Marla about their trip to Freddy's and the two beg to go again. Carlton is apprehensive about going again but Charlie insists and thinks of it as a way of honoring what happened. Charlie then decides to go for a walk when she is joined by John. John correctly assumes Charlie is going back to her old house and the two walk there together. As they reach the house they decide to take a rest on a hill and talk for a bit. They remember the tree where John tried to kiss Charlie when they were six years old. John then decides that he has to admit something to Charlie. The day Michael was taken the animatronic went on the fritz so badly the technician didn't even know what to do.

Charlie and John explore the abandoned Fredbear's Family Diner.
However in the commotion he noticed something, a person in a yellow bear outfit. The bear stood right next to Michael and the moment he took his eyes off him they were both gone. Charlie desperate for answers asks if he remembers anything about the person in the suit. John claims that he remembers the eyes behind the suit, he describes them as "dull" and "flat" like whatever was behind them died a long time ago. They then look at the time and realize they need to meet up with their friends, thus they take their leave. They re-enter the restaurant through the backdoor like before and bask in the glory of the pizzeria once more. They then notice a control panel under the floor. They realize the panel controls the animatronics and try to get them to preform. When it doesn't work they decide to play hide and seek to kill time. Charlie tries to hide in Pirate Cove but she is soon grazed on the arm by Foxy's hook which causes her to bleed. They then take their leave and patch up Charlie's wound. The gang then go to sleep and Charlie once again has a dream about the strange endoskeleton. When she wakes up at the crack of dawn she goes outside and is greeted by John. Charlie finally reveals that Freddy's was not the only restaurant Henry owned, there was another, a small diner. Although Charlie only vaguely remembers it as she was quite young at the time. She remembers the Yellow Bear (Fredbear) and the Yellow Rabbit (Spring Bonnie) and how they preformed on stage for the children. She remembers her father and her mother before she left as well as her twin brother Sammy. She then believes the animatronics there may have also been costumes. John asks if the place is even still around to which Charlie becomes determined on finding it. She remembers a tune they used to sing about "Being back in Harmony” and realizes that the song may have a connection to the nearby town New Harmony, Utah. They then find the abandoned Fredbear's Family Diner and look around. The place is desolate with nothing left there. However Charlie see's the closet her and Sammy used to play in and remembers how the Yellow Rabbit, Spring Bonnie broke into the room and "kidnapped Sammy". She then finally remembers everything. She notes that Spring Bonnie took her brother and realizes that the person inside the suit may have also been the one in the Fredbear suit when Michael was kidnapped.

Charlie examining “Dave”.
They then go to Freddy's again but are confronted by the security guard "Dave". "Dave" demands to know what they are doing there and threatens to call the cops on them. However, Charlie convinces him to let them tour the pizzeria and even offers him to lead the way. "Dave" accepts and leads them into the building. As "Dave" is leading them through the mall Charlie becomes immediately wary of him and noticed a large weird scar on the back of his neck. She voices her discomfort to John but he dismisses it. Once they enter the restaurant they attempt to once again activate the show using the control panel but they fail once again. "Dave" offers to work it for them and with a few presses of some buttons the animatronics perform perfectly. Charlie is heavily confused as to how "Dave" knew how to use the panel as he is just a security guard. Suddenly the animatronics look at "Dave" and begin to glitch out and break free from the stage. Charlie and the gang notice that "Dave" has vanished and become intent on regrouping, finding "Dave" and leaving the pizzeria. They then find Jason and run out of the pizzeria. However, Jason reveals that Carlton is still inside having been captured by some sort of rabbit (Spring Bonnie). Charlie and her friends go to Carlton's father Clay who just so happens to be the Police Chief. Although they try to claim Carlton has been kidnapped, Clay believes their concerns to be false, claiming that knowing Carlton he is just playing an elaborate prank. he invites them to his house and offers to make them hot cocoa while they wait for Carlton to return. The gang is confused about the situation and wonders if Carlton was actually kidnapped. Marla claims that Jason witnessed Carlton being kidnapped by a yellow rabbit at Freddy's however Clay becomes angered that their joking around about that place knowing what happened there ten years ago. He tells them that back then when he was a detective he investigated the missing children incident and says that it was extremely horrific for him and condemns Charlie of all people for not taking it seriously. They then ask if they ever found the culprit behind it to which he reveals that they did make an arrest. Clay arrested a man who was linked to the disappearances and to this day he is 100 percent certain he was guilty. However, since the bodies of the children were never found there was no real evidence to prove the man was liable for the murders and they had to let him go.

Charlie being informed about Afton getting away with his crimes.
Charlie is upset at the injustice but Clay claims that the law's job is to protect the innocent and penalize the guilty even if it means the guilty get away with horrible things. Clay tells them it's just the price they have to pay to which Charlie believes that it was her price to pay as she both suffered from Michael's loss and her brother wasn’t able to get justice. That night she has a dream where she is a child again and gets out of bed and goes downstairs only to be attacked by the endoskeleton. As it chases her around the room Henry catches it and turns it off. When Charlie wakes up her and her friends eat pancakes made Clay and then soon witness him arguing with his wife Betty about Carlton's disappearance. Betty insists that Carlton would never joke about something like Freddy's as he was heartbroken about Michael's death. Clay then decides to reluctantly send Officer Dunn to investigate the place, however he doesn't return. Charlie and John go back to her house and uncover many things from back then including a photo of her and Sammy with their parents. She begins to cry from the emotional moment and begins to ponder if her own father might have been the culprit behind the murders. John however insists that isn't the case and that he could never commit such an act. Charlie then reveals to John that her father killed himself following the murders using a suicide robot. She remembers the day her aunt Jen picked her up from school to tell her about her father's death. That day she explains that they briefly went back to the house to pick up some of Charlie's clothes so they could move away. Although aunt Jen told her to cover her eyes, Charlie looked anyway and saw her father's dead body on the floor and the robot that he designed to kill himself. John and Charlie hit up the local library to find out more information about Frebear's hoping to uncover who the murderer was. They find a news article from 1983 about a toddler being kidnapped at Fredbear's and Charile realizes they are talking about Sammy. She also noted that the place actually had two owners her dad and another man who they recognize as "Dave" from the mall. Suddenly, Marla barges in the library and reveals that Jason went back to Freddy's intent on rescuing Carlton himself. They attempt to get in the restaurant again but the door is welded shut no doubt by “Dave”. They however manage to enter through the vents instead. The gang split up and give eachother walkie talkies to communicate. They look on the cameras and spot Carlton trapped in the security office.

Charlie being confronted by Bonnie.
Charlie tries to go to the office but she is confronted by Bonnie and a chase ensues. She hides in the bathroom but when she looks up to see if Bonnie is gone he ends up spotting her. Bonnie slams the stalls open one by one but Charlie manages to escape while he is distracted. She enters the security office and finds Carlton trapped in a springlock suit. Charlie remembers that her dad warned her about how dangerous the suits were and instructed her on how to carefully take it off. Using this knowledge she free's Carlton from the suit just in time before the mechanical parts snap back into place. Carlton points at the Yellow Bear he saw earlier and tells Charlie that it was Michael. Suddenly "Dave" barges into room and confronts them but Charlie knocks him out with a metal pipe. The gang regroup and return to the office and see "Dave" still on the floor. Charlie a first worries that she may have killed him but John checks his pulse and reveals he is just knocked out. They then find the body of Officer Dunn in a basket filled with costumes revealing "Dave" killed him. They then tie up "Dave" with some wire and wake him up by splashing water on him. However "Dave" goes into a catatonic state and doesn't react to them. Carlton then calls out "Dave" for being the culprit behind the death of the five kids ten years ago.

Charlie' confronting Afton.
John thinks that Carlton is talking nonsense but Charlie sadly confirms it's true. John promptly punches "Dave" in the face out of rage. Even then he still does not flinch until he eyes the mask of his Spring Bonnie suit. Charlie realizes he has some sort of connection with it and places it on his head. Charlie shows scorn for "Dave" and is disgusted by how he betrayed her father. "Dave" claims that he helped Henry to create and now he has loved just like Henry did. "Dave" the reveals that the animatronics are haunted by the souls of his victims and they will murder any adults they see. Although they point out they technically aren’t, “Dave” chimes that they still look old enough to be. They however claim that ”Dave” will die as well as he was the one who killed them to begin with but he states he will survive as he is "'one of them" via his Spring Bonnie suit. In the meantime Clay finally uncovers the truth about "Dave" as it turns out the name "Dave Miller" is just an alias and that his real name is William Afton and he was Henry's business partner, the same one who allegedly murdered the five kids ten years ago. Back at Freddy's the animatronics attack the gang but they manage to evade them until they are cornered by Chica. Charlie then pulls a risky move and pulls a live wire out of the ceiling and electrocutes Chica knocking her out.

Charlie being attacked by Foxy.
However, Charlie is soon chased by Foxy and tries to hide behind the arcade cabinets but Foxy tears them all apart and finds her. Thankfully, John comes to her rescue and dropkicks Foxy. However it's too late the animatronics have surrounded them all. John attempts to talk to Charlie and calls her by her full name Charlotte hoping to say something heartfelt to her. However, Charlie tells him to wait until later even though there might not be one. Just as the animatronics are about to pounce Golden Freddy appears and calls off the animatronics. They then realize that Golden Freddy is indeed possessed by Michael. Suddenly, Clay breaks into the building and rescues them.

Charlie killing Afton.
Just as the gang is about to leave Afton attacks in his Spring Bonnie suit and takes Charlie hostage. He demands that they all stay and do as he says or he will murder Charlie while they watch. Charlie enraged at William for all the pain he has caused her sets off the springlocks and tells him if he wants to be one of them, he can be one of them. The springlocks snap back into place and crush William's entire body giving him a slow and painful death. The animatronics then drag the dying Afton into the depths of the building.

Charlie and John bidding goodbye.
Charlie and her friends leave the mall and ponder about what should happen next. Clay claims that they need to retrieve officer Dunn's body and with the new evidence they have now they may be able to finally close the Missing Children case. Clay then asks for Charlie's opinion on the matter. She then decides it best to leave Freddy's in the past once and for all. She then goes to the local cemetery and pays a visit to her father's grave. John tags along and asks if they will ever see each other again. Charlie then remembers when she was a child playing on a swing set and her and her father witnessed a crow pecking on the ground for worms. They then happily laugh in each others arms.
The Twisted Ones[]

Charlie argues with her Aunt Jen.
Around a year after the events of The Silver Eyes, Charlie attempts to move on from her past. However shortly after her 18th birthday she ends up having disturbing nightmares about her twin brother Sammy. In these dreams she see’s a large metal door that she feels Sammy is locked behind. She starts to believe these dreams could signify that Sammy may somehow still be alive. That August, she decides to pack her things and return to Hurricane to investigate coming up with the excuse that she is going to visit Jessica at St. George University. However her aunt Jen is strictly against it insisting that after what happened there returning to that town is a horrible idea. This leads to the two having their first argument with Jen claiming that she raised her to be stronger. Charlie then realizes that Jen wanted her to be stronger than her father which offends her deeply. She then gets in her car and takes her leave. Before she arrives in Hurricane she begins to have second thoughts and ended up sleeping in her car for a week until she finally meets up with Jessica at her University. She stays with her old friend throughout the remainder of the summer semester until she decides to enroll herself and take robotics courses hoping too follow in her father’s footsteps. During one class taught by her Professor Mrs. Treadwell she is studied on the wonders of the human brain and how it filters out unnecessary information. Suddenly her classmate Arty talks to her and asks to know what she is drawing. Charlie says that it’s just simple math. After class Arty asks if they could team up for the upcoming project but she declines as she has to meet John later. Arty asks if John is from her hometown and questions her about the urban legends of the murders at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Charlie gets offended by his question and insists she was just a child when it happened and angrily leaves. On her way back to her dorm she starts to think about all the trauma she faced.

Charlie checks on her project.
When she returns to her dorm she checks on her project. The project is two animatronic heads that somehow communicate and interact with each other. Suddenly Jessica walks in and asks about Charlie’s project. Although she tries to hide it at first she finally revealed that the animatronics she created were programmed to mimic and learn from each other. Jessica ends up finding her old rabbit toy Theodore on the floor but all that’s left is his head. Charlie claims that she took him apart to study him. She then confines in her friend about John who is coming to visit. She wants to avoid talking about what happened last year at Freddy’s. However, Jessica encourages her to talk to him anyway and urges her to see him. Charlie and John finally meet again and catch up. Charlie reveals that since they last saw each other she had been doing sit-ups and she cut her hair. The two then eat burgers in the cafeteria and discuss things. John then cuts to the chase and tells Charlie that a tornado hit Hurricane and that her father’s house was damaged albeit not too badly. John then asks Charlie out on a date for later that night to which she nervous accepts. The two then agree to meet a 8pm that night for dinner and part ways. On her way back to her dorm room, Charlie is meet by Clay Burke to asks for her help solving a murder case. On the way to the scene of the crime, Clay informs Charlie that the police finally tore Freddy’s down and collected as much evidence as possible to close the Missing Children Case. He also tells her that Carlton is living with his aunt for the time being and studying out east to clear his mind after what happened.

Charlie examaning a body.
When they arrive at the scene of the crime Charlie notices that the victim has scars on him similar to the one’s suffered from a springlock failure. She explains the functionality of the springlock suits and theorizes that the man may have been wearing one albeit unwillingly. On the way back Clay drops a bombshell on Charlie. Despite police searching Freddy’s and raiding the place they didn’t find William Afton’s body. Not only that but they found fake blood on the floor. This makes Clay theorize that Afton may have faked his death much to Charlie’s horror. That night Charlie meets up with John at a Thai restaurant. The two then confide in each other about the incident at Freddy’s and how it’s affecting them. In the midst of the conversation John attempts to hold Charile’s hand but she recoils being reminded of the blood from the victims she earlier examined. She then decides to go to the bathroom to wash her hands but noticed something weird in the mirror, herself maliciously smiling at her. John and Charlie then decide to go see a movie one about zombies. The appearance of the zombies briefly reminds her of the corpse she saw earlier and disturbs her somewhat. John then asks Charlie what she thinks of the movie. However, Charlie thinks too deep into it and points out all the scientific inaccuracies and points out the flaws in the plot much to John’s amusement. As they leave the theater Charlie talks to John about Clay seeing her earlier concerning the dead body they found and the fact that Afton’s own body was not found. This worries John and he asks Charlie if she thinks William is alive however she doubts it. The two then agree to meet tomorrow night for another dinner date and part ways. When Charlie returns to the dorm she talks with Jessica about how the date went. Charlie then asks her if they can go shopping the next day. She excitedly agrees and the two decide to go early in the morning. Charlie decides to work on her project before bed but she ends up falling asleep and has another nightmare where one of the heads is talking as if it’s Sammy and begs Charlie not to leave her. Charlie then further vows to find Sammy. The next morning John arrives at the dorm and asks if she’s up to get breakfast. Charlie attempts to show him her project as well as something new she’s working on. It’s an earpiece that when worn can make someone visible with the animatronics she’s building so they can recognize the person wearing the device as “one of them”. Before she can congregate with him further but she remembers her promise to go shopping with Jessica and he has John leave.

Charlie and Jessica find what remains of William Afton.
However Jessica and Charlie end up making a stop at the abandoned mall that housed Freddy’s much to Jessica’s reluctance. The two look around and see the desolate and withered remains of the building until they head towards Pirate Cove and find a closet. Once they open the closet they come face to face with the dead body of William Afton still trapped in the Spring Bonnie suit. Charlie now satisfied with the notion that Afton is seemingly dead the two leave. Later on Charlie helps Arty study for their robotic class but Charlie gets lost in space and scribbles in her notebook. She starts to think the drawing she is subconsciously making may have to do with Sammy. She then hastily leaves nearly knocking into someone. She then goes for a drive to clear her mind but on the way at she spots something horrific. It’s another body being picked apart by crows. Upon further inspection she see’s that the person who died bears a striking resemblance to herself. She then stops by a gas station and asks to use the phone but she is required to purchase something first. She goes to the freezer to get a popsicle but finds the stuffed head of a fox which gives her a ptsd flashback of when she was attacked by Foxy. The gas station attended did this just to prank her and allows her to use the phone. She then calls Clay and informs him about the new body she found. When Clay comes to investigate he also notes the victims similar appearance to Charlie even insinuating they could be twins a sentiment that offends her as she already had a twin her brother Sammy. Clay then gets the victims wallet and finds out her personal information.

Charlie finds the body of Tracy Horton.
Clay identifies the victim as Tracy Horton and Charlie offers to investigate her house privately for clues. However she is only given a twenty minute time window to do so as Clay needs to call the incident in. Charlie goes to Tracy’s house and uncovers three large graves in her backyard. Suddenly police sirens whir in the distance and Charlie realizes her time is up. It’s then that she suddenly remember that she was supposed to have a date with John that night. She rushes to the Italian restaurant and finds that John is still there. Charlie decided to be honest with him but decides to go clean up in the bathroom first. As she is on the way to the bathroom she spots a phone and gives Clay a call asking for the other addresses of the victims. As she is washing up in the bathroom she is haunted by visions of Tracy Horton as well as Sammy which makes her reassure herself she will find him. She then panics and hastily opens the bathroom door I’m not to bump into John by accident. The two decide to go to Charlie’s old house for clues. When they arrive they find several things. A picture of Charlie when she was younger wearing a dress identical to her doll Ella but she claims not to remember it. They then go to Henry’s old workshop for more clues while removing pieces of debris to reach it. She angrily tears through the room hoping to find something and until she breaks down and admits to John about what’s going on. She tells him that there are monsters around the county killing people and they must have come from her house. She also states that she can feel Sammy in her old house somehow and she is desperate to find him even if it’s sounds impossible. John comforts her and tells her that he will help.

Charlie being attacked by Twisted Foxy.
They then suddenly find three graves on The ground the same as the one’s she previously saw. She also see’s a metal wall but before she can investigate John has her look at something else, an animatronic half way buried in the ground. They realize that it’s Foxy or rather another version of him. Charlie isn’t sure if her father made it but she theorizes he may have been the one who buried it. However the Twisted Foxy springs to life and becomes a grotesque creature. It attacks Charlie and emits an ear piercing sound that makes them sick. However John destroys it by ripping it’s head off. Upon examination of the animatronic they find a small chip implanted in it. When they return from the dorm room Charlie uses a magnifying glass to examine the chip and finds that it was manufactured by Afton Robotics a company no doubt owned by William Afton. She begins to panic to John and tells him that one of the victims looked like her and that she may be connected in all this. However, John comforts her and insists it’s just a coincidence. They then look on a map and dot the locations where the bodies where found and realize the creatures are moving in a specific direction. Jessica then walks in the room and questions what there talking about. Charlie tells Jessica about the investigation and enlist her help. Jessica points out the creatures path is leading to the college. It's here that Charlie’s fears are confirmed, they are coming after her. They then decide that they must destroy the animatronics before they get to her.

Charlie encounters the Twisted Wolf.
They enter a suburban neighborhood under construction. They equip them selves with a shovel and a crowbar and dig up a freshly dug hole. Inside the hole is a motionless animatronic Freddy confirming their fears. They then decide to call Clay to help with the investigation. Charlie looks at the animatronic in the ground and ponders if Afton made it. She then begins to wonder why William chose to take her brother all those years ago instead of her. When Clay arrives the docile Freddy in the ground rises and transforms into a Twisted form. The gang runs away before it can attack them. In the car Charlie turns of the chip to see how it works. It emits the same sound as before that distresses everyone. Charlie then realizes what these chips are. In class she learned about the brain and how it filter out unnecessary information the chip they have works on the same principle. The chip is making illusions wrought through the brain and changing one’s perceptions of things. The Twisted One’s are using these chips to appear as grotesque creatures The gang then stakeout to catch the other Twisted animatronics. However they have already emerged from their graves. They soon come face to face with a large Twisted Wolf. The wolf managed to capture yet another girl but they manage to save her before she dies. The wolf retreats into the night leaving Charlie terrified. The next day during class she can’t keep her mind off what she saw and ends up accidentally scribbling on her exam. She briefly meets up with John and the two talk and agree to go to dinner that night. However, Charlie lied she intends to go it alone and hunt down the Twisted Ones herself. She camps out in a show house for the time being and goes to sleep. However she is jolted awake by a noises in the distance and ends up being attacked and captured by Twisted Freddy. When she awakens she finds herself trapped in Twisted Freddy’s chest cavity with springlocks closing in on her. She tries to escape but her sudden movement causes a couple of the springlocks to pierce her knocking her unconscious. When she awakens she finds herself buried underground inside of Twisted Freddy. She carefully and cautiously maneuvers out of the suit without tripping the springlocks. She finds herself in an underground pizzeria identical to Freddy’s. She is then encountered by an animatronic child; Balloon Boy. Balloon Boy begins to chase her and the room subsequently begins to shift and change likely under an illusion. An army of Balloon Boys begin chasing her. She hides in a closet only to be attacked by Twisted Freddy once more but manages to maneuver past him and escape. She is then rescued by John, Jessica and Clay. Clay shoots the lights in the pizzeria which puts a stop to the illusions of Balloon Boy. Suddenly, Twisted Freddy appears and attacks him but Clay guns him down. Clay also incidentally shoots the chip inside the animatronic and destroys the illusion.

Charlie attacking Springtrap.
However they are attacked by Twisted Bonnie and Twisted Wolf. Suddenly they are confronted by someone unexpected; William Afton whose is still alive albeit fused with the Spring Bonnie suit. Afton proclaims himself to be neither William Afton nor Dave Miller he is Springtrap and he is far greater that Afton ever was and far more than Henry. Although, Springtrap claims he won’t hurt Charlie’s friends he needs something from her. Suddenly Clay shoots Springtrap which ensues a battle between the animatronics and the humans. The gang tries to run away and douse the Twisted One’s in water to make them short circuit but this fails with Soringtrap mocking them for it. However, John uses gasoline cans to set the animatronics on fire. Charlie then chases after Springtrap herself and a fight ensues between the two. Although, Springtrap attempts to put Charlie in a chokehold like he did at the end of the Silver Eyes, Charlie breaks free using her strength from doing sit-ups. Meanwhile the original animatronics come into the scene and destroy the Twisted One’s for good. As the fight continues Charlie goes on the offensive and finds a fake mushroom in the ground with a sharp edge and impales Springtrap with it. Charlie then starts to beat Springtrap to a pulp demanding to know why he took Sammy all those years ago. However, Springtrap reveals to Charlie a dark truth. He tells her that he didn’t take Sammy he took her.

Charlie being swallowed by Twisted Freddy.
Suddenly the underground pizzeria begins to collapse and Springtrap escapes through a trapdoor. They find a door and enter it only to find themselves in Charlie’s house. She then see’s the metal door from before and tires desperately to open it believing Sammy might be behind it. However, John convinces her to stop telling her that whatever is behind that door won’t bring back her family. John the professes his love to Charlie which finally calms her down and makes her want to leave. However, Twisted Freddy somehow survived and attacks. He pulls Charlie into his chest cavity and seemingly kills her via a springlock failure. As Charlie’s friends are horrified by her death they are dragged away by the police with John seeing a mysterious woman holding the limp Charlie’s hand. Suddenly a tree collapses onto the house completely destroying it. Later on the group goes to a diner and sadly contemplates Charlie’s fate with Marla and Arty arriving to hear about the news. John then recognizes the woman who was seen near Charlie as her Aunt Jen and wonders if she knew anything. As they are about to accept her death suddenly a woman wearing a red dress who appears to be Charlie suddenly drives up. Although the group becomes relieved and believes this to be Charlie, John knows better and realizes that she isn’t the real Charlie.
The Fourth Closet[]
Six months after the events of the Twisted Ones, John is still reeling from Charile’s death, refuses to believe that the woman who greeted them at the diner was the real Charlie even though all his friends are fooled. He keeps having dreams and visions about what happened that night to the point it costs him his job. Meanwhile a new animatronic restaurant is opened called Circus Baby’s Pizza World which is more or less a painful reminder of Freddy’s Eventually John is informed by Clay that a new batch of children are disappearing around town and he is also wary of Charlie ever since her miraculous survival from Twisted Freddy’s. However before he can investigate the matter further he is viciously assaulted by something or someone and left hospitalized. Meanwhile, John is observing Charlie’s old rabbit toy Theodore and it keeps uttering the same phrase over again, “Shining Star, Silver Reef”.

John finds the real Charlie.
When they visit Clay in the hospital he hands them an envelope that contains photos he has taken of Charlie to help with his investigation. In these photos Charlie is for some reason always blurred while everyone else is normal. John and Jessica then investigated further and find out that the phrase Theodore was uttering was actually guiding them to the town of Silver Reef an abandoned mining own in Utah. They then find a house that belongs to Charlie’s aunt Jen. When Jen lets them in the house they press her for answers but she only gives vague hints instead of anything useful. Soon enough, the fake Charlie knocks on the door and Jessica and John are forced to hide. While they are hiding in the back room they come across a chest. Inside the chest is none other than the real Charlie in a comatose state whispering the words “Shining Star, Silver Reef” revealing that she was telepathically communicating to John via Theodore. The duo grab the unconscious Charlie and escape the house without being noticed by the fake Charlie who was too busy killing Aunt Jen to notice. The gang brings Charlie back to John’s apartment so she can recover. They look through more of the photos Clay took and finally realize that the fake Charlie is none other than Circus Baby the mascot of her titular pizzeria. John thinks that she must have been using illusion discs to make herself appear as Charlie. However, Circus Baby appears at John’s apartment still pretending to be Charlie. John has no choice but to let her in and she looks around suspecting John is hiding Charlie. However, John distracts her by asking her out on a date which shifts her focus. In the meantime Charlie is dreaming about her past experiences including the kidnapping of Sammy and the third closet in her old house. Suddenly she is woken up by John and the two happily reunited with John being relieved Charlie truly is alive. John informs Charlie of the situation and her impersonator and she appropriately assumes William Afton is behind it. That night John meets up with the fake Charlie/Baby for their date but it goes wrong. Jessica then decides to confront Circus Baby but this results in her getting captured and taken to her hideout. It’s there she meets William Afton again who has removed the Spring Bonnie suit but is left in critical condition and expected to die soon enough. He reveals that he plans to find a way to become immortal to prevent his inevitable demise and Baby has been complicit with his plans by helping him kidnap children.

Charlie and John find another Ella doll mimicking Charlie.
Meanwhile as Charlie is sleeping she dreams about herself as a child with her father sitting by a tree in each others arms. However the dream takes a depressing turn when Henry begins to cry profusely. When Charlie awakens she contemplates on what exactly was calling her behind that door. She realized that she didn’t want to go not because John pulled her away but because the door started to open. Suddenly she is greeted by John and happily reunited with Carlton and Marla. John then shows Charlie something peculiar; her doll Ella but it has an illusion disc imbedded in it’s shoe. Using it, the Ella doll transforms into a copy of Charlie as a child. Charlie then realizes that this specific disc was not made by Afton but by her father. Charlie then comes up with a plan to protect themselves from the animatronics. She figures that the ear piece she used for her college project to make herself visible to the animatronics she was building can be reverse engineered to make humans invisible to animatronics. Jessica reveals she had kept all of Charlie’s old things at her apartment. Carlton the offers to retrieve the ear piece at Jessica’s apartment barely managing to survive an encounter with Circus Baby but the ear piece worked and he became invisible to her. Meanwhile, Charlie slips back to sleep again and is woken up by John. Charlie remembers how John said that he loved her before she was swallowed by Twisted Freddy. However, John nervously says he meant that she loved her as a friend. Charlie then remembers what happened and how the door opened shortly before Twisted Freddy attacked her and she heard a heartbeat behind it. At first she assumed it was Sammy but she remembered Afton’s final words to her as Springtrap. “I didn’t take him I took you” John insists that what Afton said was merely meant to confuse and hurt her as he is insane. Charlie wonders if Aunt Jen has any answers as she kept her in that chest for six months however John says it’s not possible to ask her as she died.

Charlie learns the truth of her creation.
Charlie and John drive to Aunt Jen’s house. In the house they find several of Henry’s old belongings including a suicide note from him. In the note Henry mentions how he has essentially destroyed his own mind and perception of reality and it’s too late to fix it. He mentions that despite having his daughter she brings him no joy and he has now corrupted her by pouring his own agony into her which turned her into a reminder of the pain he went through and what he had lost. In the note he informs his sister Jenny that his business partner stole his work and further corrupted it. However, he took it back and sealed it away as well as the closets in his house and to especially keep the Fourth Closet shut no matter the cost. He ends the note by saying he is finally going to be with his daughter. Charlie and John are confused by this letter and the context of what it meant. They then uncover schematics of “Ella” at various stages of life. John theorizes that Henry wanted Ella to grow up to keep Charlie company after she lost Sammy. However this makes Charlie question why her father would think she wanted a life sized version of Ella and if it was merely that why would Afton go out his way to steal it. Suddenly, Circus Baby confronts them and claims she wonders the exact same thing. Baby tries to convince Charlie to come with her, however John intervenes and attacks Baby. However, Baby knocks John out and continues her pursuit of Charlie. Baby questions what exactly makes Charlie so special and Charlie retorts asking what exactly she is. Baby then touches heads with Charlie and shares some of her memories. In these memories Charlie learns apart of Baby's origins. She was once a human girl named Elizabeth who was the daughter of none other than William Afton. William was so busy building the robot he stole from Henry and turning it into Circus Baby he neglected and abused his daughter. Elizabeth became fixated with Baby and began to model herself after her. Eventually she died at the hands of Circus Baby as William re-programmed it to kill children. Elizabeth's soul then possessed Baby. She then reveals another memory containing the other part of her origin or rather the origins of both her and Charlie. Henry began to cry into Ella and imbued it with his own greif pretending it was his real daughter. Jenny however tried to convince her brother that his obsession was unhealthy and encouraged him to move on as he still had his wife and son. Charlie is confused by Jen's statement as she thought Sammy died. Baby then explains that for Henry simply pretending Ella was his daughter was not enough he wanted her to grow up. Henry then made three versions of his new daughter each imbued with different stages of his grief.

Charlie's death.
The first a toddler imbued with his initial grief with it's memories made using a camera and tripod, the second a kid imbued with his insanity, the third a teenager imbued with his despair and the fourth a grown woman imbued with his pure, unyielding rage. Baby was that fourth robot, she was made alive by Henry's fury. Henry however didn't bother finishing her as he had already realized he had gone mad. So he left her in the corner of his workshop, neglected and abandoned. Baby was the same endoskeleton from Charlie's dreams the one that had chased her and scared her as a child. After, Afton stole her away Henry took her back and locked her away in the fourth closet in his house. Baby was the one calling to Charlie in her dreams from before begging to be set free. Charlie is confused and thought the message was from Sammy. Baby angered that Charlie still hasn't understood spells it out to her. Afton didn't kill Sammy he killed Charlie and she along with herself are both just replicas of Henry's real daughter made in his madness to cope with her death. She then explains that she is powered by the Ella doll that Henry imbued his agony into and rips it out of Charlie's stomach to prove it. Charlie attempts to crawl away and Baby goes on a monologue claiming that Afton wants Charlie to find out exactly how Henry imbued an inanimate object with his own emotions rather than a soul. She states that although she was tasked with retrieving her she would rather kill her out of jealousy and hatred. Charlie then goes on the offensive and attacks Baby with a paperweight. Charlie then remembers the closet where the Henry's suicide robot lied and lured Baby closer to it. Baby then notices John has awakened and transforms into a perfect replica of Charlie the one that John knows intending to impersonate her once more. She then spitefully asks Charlie how far she can get with him before she notices she's an imposter. Charlie then tells Baby that she was right, she wasnt supposed to be here, neither of them were. She then presses the on button for the suicide bot and it's knife impales them both. As both Charlie and Baby die the latter laments that she never had a life. Charlie then slides the Ella doll to Baby. John runs into the room and see's the gruesome scene to his horror. Before Charlie dies she tries to tell John that she loves him but she dies before she could finish her sentence.

The grave belonging to the real Charlotte Emily.
After Carlton, Marla and Jessica finally defeat Afton for good they are taken to the hospital due to Carlton's injuries. They question what happened to Charlie. Clay claims that they could not find her and he is going to keep looking. John then interjects that no matter how hard they look they will never find her. John then goes to the local cemetery and gazes upon two graves solemnly while contemplating the fact he never got to tell Charlie that he truly loved her as more than a friend. He then notices a woman on the hill who bares a striking resembles to Charlie. The woman extends her hand to John and the two walk away. We then see that the gravestones that John was looking at belonged to both Henry and the real Charlie with her epitaph reading, "BELOVED DAUGHTER, CHARLOTTE EMILY, 1980–1983".
