Biography[]
Early life[]
Charlotte was born to Ms. Gagnepetit and Mr. Galanopoulo. Since a young age, she was greatly fascinated with the world around her. Charlotte's father, a seasoned reporter and professional nature photographer, noticed his daughter's interest in and knack for observation. Thus, on her tenth birthday, he gave her a custom-made Kamera. From then on, she and her father became a team and took photos everywhere.
Soon after, Charlotte’s father sent the photos they’d taken to the Steambird. Critics and editors alike were amazed and praised Galanopoulo profusely but he tells them it was Charlotte’s handiwork, and Charlotte snapped a photo of their bewildered faces, calling it ‘No, No That won’t Do!’
After Charlotte's extraordinary photography skills had made her famous, she began receiving frequent visits from manuscript writers, magazine editors, news clipping collectors, and her father's reporter colleagues. Among them was Euphrasie, the Editor-in-Chief of The Steambird, who offered her the role of a "special correspondent" — someone who would conduct interviews and write articles in addition to taking photographs. After contemplating for a while, Charlotte decided to accept the job offer.
Some time after receiving her position in the Steambird, Charlotte decided to compete for the La Verite Prize, a prestigious prize established and funded by The Steambird. To everyone's astonishment, Charlotte unexpectedly declared that her submission would be a brand-new, never-before-published report, one that would reveal some heretofore unrivaled "truth”.
On the day the award was to be announced, Charlotte released the headline "Prestige Prize Proved Perniciously Partial — The Real La Verite." In it, Charlotte detailed the various monetary dealings that the long-serving members of the La Verite Award selection committee had engaged in over the previous decade, various inequities in their judgments, and provided an exhaustive list of reporters and reports who had been done dirty in the process.
She continued publishing articles concerning the La Verite Award in The Steambird, even directing her pen against certain figures in the newspaper itself who had been connected to the La Verite selection committee, laying out the manner in which they had recommended reporters with whom they shared beneficial arrangements for awards, and how those reporters had returned the favors. The articles caused such a massive outcry that the Maison Gardiennage started a 3 month investigation into the award. After the investigation was over, the committee was reorganised and the award was discredited, but it was given to Charlotte anyway.
Receiving her vision[]
Some time later, Charlotte was writing a new article about the ill treatment of salvage divers, and had gone to interview a man named Dollander, who had hired a large number of said divers. However, Dollander did not seem interested in speaking the truth and the divers he had hired held their silence too. Soon after, Charlotte tried again but seemingly did not emerge for a while. The Steambird reporters soon began to investigate and made an extensive report of Dollander’s ill-treatment of salvage divers. However, they didn’t have any photographic evidence to back it up. At that moment Charlotte burst in and showed them the photographs, which were then used in the headline article the next day.
The night before that edition was to be published, Charlotte was in the printing room doing the final proofreading work. When she finished reading the final word and put the manuscript down, a Cryo vision appeared in her hand. Scrutinizing it, she mumbled to herself that she would leave out that detail.
