Charmaine Diyoza was the primary antagonist in season five and later a supporting protagonist in season six and seven of the CW show, The 100.
She was portrayed by Ivana Miličević.
Description[]
In the past, Diyoza was a terrorist turned prisoner aboard the Eligius IV. She then participated in a conspiracy to take control of the ship, being forced to have sex with Paxton McCreary for the alliance. Though greedy and cruel at first, she switches sides, allying with Wonkru to defeat McCreary and his men. She also has a very protective maternal side towards her daughter Hope and Octavia whom she considers a member of her new family.
History[]
Season 5[]
She first appears when the Gagarin lands on Earth. She captures Clarke with Shaw and tortures her for information about her allies. After which, she meets Bellamy from Spacekru who takes her to the bunker to negotiate the sharing of Shallow Valley with Blodreina and Wonkru. Despite this, tensions are felt on both sides who want to go to war. This is obviously what happens and Diyoza decides, along with McCreary, to bombard Wonkru who was on his way to Shallow Valley in the desert.
At one point, she captures Raven and is ready to betray McCreary for a trade after Murphy's radio call. The latter learns what she has done and a rivalry develops between the group of Diyoza and that of McCreary. After a confrontation, she flees into the woods and goes to a cave with Raven, Murphy, Kane, Echo, Shaw and Emori. She and Kane indulge in McCreary and Diyoza tells him that she knows he is using his battle plan before being imprisoned by her former ally.
At the end of the season, she witnesses the missiles launched at Earth by McCreary because he will never have the valley and watches him being brutally killed by Clarke. Eventually, Diyoza stays aboard the Gagarin and has a brief chat with Octavia before going into cryosleep.
Season 6[]
She is awakened by Raven when intruders attempt to take control of the Eligius IV. They manage to neutralize them and descend on the Alpha moon discovered by Monty. There, she pretends to be paralyzed when she, Gaia and Madi are attacked by the Children of Gabriel who behead one of the Primes who came to Eligius IV. After which, she goes with the others to Sanctum but is quickly banished by Russell Lightbourne for his criminal past as a terrorist.
In the woods, she reunites with Octavia and the two meet Xavier who is actually Gabriel Santiago, a former supporter of the Primes and the leader of the Children of Gabriel. The trio attempt to unravel the secret of the Anomaly thanks to the writings of Octavia whose arm has crossed the temporal wave. Along the way, Diyoza hallucinates Hope, a child who guides her to the Anomaly portal and suddenly disappears.
Season 7[]
In season seven, we learn that Diyoza gave birth to Hope and formed a small family with her and Octavia on Skyring. As Octavia sends a message for Bellamy, it is the Disciples who pick him up and take Octavia and Diyoza to Bardo.
On this planet, they are trained and tested for the Last War predicted according to "the Shepherd". But Diyoza resists the torture and is shackled. While escaping, she finds Hope, Echo and Gabriel who betray them and the Disciples guards capture them again. The group then finds Clarke and his friends arrived on Bardo and learn with sadness of the apparent death of Bellamy.
As they must leave this planet, Echo is missing as she wants revenge by spreading Gen-9 all over the place. At this point Anders intervenes and retrieves the Gen-9 before Hope slits his throat and leaves to pour the liquid in a duct. Diyoza stops him in time, when the drop of Gen-9 falls on his hand, starting to crystallize it. Diyoza yells at the others to leave and tells Hope to be better than her before she dies, crystallizing her and the whole room.
