Sorry about scaring you, brother.
~ Cheetor to Mirage.

Cheetor is a supporting character featured in the 2023 film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. He is a member of the Maximals who could transform into a cheetah.

He is voiced by Tongayi Chirisa.

History[]

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts[]

Cheetor was one of the Maximals who served under Apelinq, alongside Optimus Primal, Airazor, and Rhinox. One day, Scourge, the most powerful of Unicron's heralds, came to the Maximals' homeworld, looking for the Transwarp key. Luckily, Cheetor and his fellow Maximals were able to escape the planet before Unicron consumed it. As Apelinq stay behind to fight Scourge and give them a fighting chance, the Maximals were able to escape with the Transwarp key. When they came to earth, Cheetor and his fellow Maximals split the key in half: one with a statuette of Airazor and another in the Peruvian temple. The Maximals eventually moved their half and safe-guarded it with the human Amaru's family. They were eventually separated from Airazor, who thought she was the last of her kind.

In 1994, two humans, Elena Wallace and Noah Diaz had come looking for one half of the key with their allies the Autobots. Cheetor's leader, Optimus Primal angrily why they were looking for the key. Cheetor bounced on top of Mirage until he saw himself at Arcee's mercy. Before a fight could ensue, Airazor appeared, where she explained to the Autobots that Cheetor, Primal and Rhinox were her fellow Maximals. Afterwards, Cheetor got off Mirage and apologized for scaring him. The Maximals took the humans and the Autobots to a villager named Amaru. Unfortunately, the following day, Airazor was brainwashed by Scourge because of the mark he inflicted on her. She turned against her former allies and took the Transwarp key from Elena Wallace. Primal was forced to kill Airazor upon her request. Cheetor was visibly distraught by Airazor's death but they could not mourn for their comrade. Despite all being lost Optimus Prime and Noah convinced Primal and the other Maximals to fight back. Cheetor noticed that only humans could go through the tunnels within the Terrorcons' fortress. While Elena and Noah went into the tunnels, the Maximals and the Autobots would distract Scourge and the Terrorcons.

Fighting alongside his fellow Maximals and Autobots, Optimus Primal ordered Cheetor and Rhinox to "maximize" to fight the Terrorcon drones. Though Cheetor and his friends were overwhelmed by the endless drones, he noticed Noah being whisked away by Nightbird and threw his spear at her, freeing Noah from her grasp. The tide of the battle turned when Bumblebee appeared arrived and allowing the Maximals and Autobots to gain the upper hand. Before Elena could stop the activation, Scourge realized what she was doing and fired at her, destroying the control panel. With no way to stop Unicron, Optimus opted to stay behind and sacrifice himself to destroy it. However, both Noah and Primal reappeared to save Prime and Cheetor and the others were able to escape.

While Unicron would one day return, Cheetor and the other Maximals had newfound allies, the Autobots, and the humans if Unicron ever returned.
