Cherie is a major character in the sci-fi adult comedy series Solar Opposites. She is a paranoid and violent rebel and one of the many inhabitants of the wall.
She was voiced by Christina Hendricks.
History[]
She first appeared in "The Quantum Ring" as a server at Benihana whom Yumyulack shrank for putting shrimp in his food. She was rescued from some scavengers by Tim, and she told him that the line he said was from Terminator, not Predator. She went on a crusade with Tim and Pedro to get insulin for Pedro's dad from the Duke. The Duke gave Enrique the insulin, but decapitated Pedro for starting a riot.
She is next seen in "The Lavatic Reactor", wherein she, Tim, and Enrique tried to cut off the Duke's food supply. They were betrayed by Enrique, who became one of the Duke's enforcers. The Duke throws Cherie into the Boo-Boo Hole, which seemingly kills her.
Her final role in Season 1 was in "Terry and Korvo Steal a Bear". She broke Tim out of prison so that he could lead the resistance. They had sex after comparing battle scars, and went to the Bowinian church to listen to the Duke's speech. One of the Duke's enforcers, tried to kill them, but failed. Tim and Cherie led the resistance into battle, but the Duke flooded the lower levels of the Wall, killing hundreds of people. Upon storming the Duke's palace, Tim and Cherie discovered that he has escaped through a hole in the wall, meaning there is a way out. When Cherie tries telling this to the public, Tim turns on her and stabs her with a toothpick, before announcing that the Duke is dead and has killed Cherie. Her body is then kicked out of the hole, before the hole is covered up.
She returns in "The Unlikely Demise of Terry's Favorite Shot Glass", wherein she is revealed to be alive, but wounded with a broken leg. She tries to find food in the backyard she is trapped in, but finds the Duke. They fight, but become friends after being trapped inside a toy ship together, with the danger of being attacked by Jeff the Possum. The Duke reveals his suspicions that Cherie is pregnant with Tim's child, and it turns out to be true. The Duke sacrifices himself to kill Jeff, and tell Cherie to head to the nearby Walgreens where she can have her kid. On the way there, Cherie is forced to hide from Jesse inside a Pez container. Her water breaks, and she has her kid, who she names Pezlie. She and Pezlie journey to the Walgreens, but it turns out to be a fake. They go back to the wall, just in time for Cherie Day, where Cherie plots with Halk Hogam to take Tim down.
Later on, it is revealed that she has found shelter with the church, keeping both her survival and the existence of Pezlie, the first child to be born miniaturized, from the public. She and Halk manage to infiltrate Tim's chambers where they discover him facing severe mental and physical decline due to lead poisoning from drinking from an old burger King cup. Halk wants to leave him, but Cherie, wanting him to face justice, insists that they kidnap him. They take him back to the church where, despite their best efforts, Tim dies. Cherie then goes on to publicly string up his corpse and reveal not only his death, but also the fact that she is alive and that there is a hole to the outside. She then convinces the people to start a new government centered around a group of elected leaders.
After the power goes out, she along with three other people venture to the lower levels in order to try and fix it. While Halk initially refused to help, he later agrees to come. Upon entering the lower levels, they see that after the Duke flooded the area, it was never cleaned up. The group is then stopped by the Muck People who only agree to help them after Cherie promises them a seat at the table.
Later on, while eating a meal with the Muck People, the group discovers that one of their members were killed and mixed into the stew they were eating, and the Muck People reveal they they decided against working together. Cherie's group attempts to flee, but a fight ensues, leading to the Muck People being eaten by a mosquito larva while Cherie's group manages to flee. As they journey, they manage to turn the power back on, but two more members are killed by the mosquitoes, leaving just Cherie and Halk.
The two eventually encounter The Janitor, who reveals that the mosquitoes are necessary as they are the only reliable food source in the wall. Cherie insists that the mosquitoes are too dangerous to leave around while Halk understands their importance and wants to leave them alone. Cherie goes off to kill the mosquitoes on her own, but Halk eventually comes to her aid. The two end up falling into the lowest level where they discover the former CEO of AT&T. He explains that after Molly's death, he cultivated mosquitoes in order to take revenge by destroying the rest of the wall. Cherie and Halk attempt to flee out through the Boo-Hoo Hole, but are stopped by mosquitoes. Cherie manages to open the hole, letting the spiders who have infested it out to fight the mosquitoes. Cherie and Halk use the oppurtunity to climb up the hole, but Halk is captured by a mosquito. He then sacrifices himself to let Cherie get away.
Upon returning to the upper levels, Cherie learns that Sister Sisto had revealed the existence of Pezlie as some kind of miracle child sent to them by Jesse, and despite Cherie's objections, she is dragged away by a guard while her baby gets branded as part of Pezlie's "baptism".
Appearance[]
Cherie has red hair and an olive complexion albeit she later got tan after one year living in the Solar Opposites' backyard. When placed in The Wall, Cherie had long hair with bangs in a ponytail, then she got her hair partially shaved upon joining the rebellion and wore it down.
