Chickenhare is the titular main protagonist of Netflix's featured film Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness. He is part hare, part chicken.

He is voiced by Thomas Solivéres.

Chickenhare was created by Chris Grines.

Appearance[]

Chickenhare appears at the beginning of the film as a short and slim anthropomorphic hybrid of a chicken and a hare with blue eyes, brown and white fur, long drooping ears, and chicken legs that extend beyond his knees. Wearing an outfit reminiscent of Indiana Jones, he appears to be dressed as an explorer. The brown fedora, the leather jacket, even the lasso, are similar to Indiana Jones, but he also wears a sleeveless green shirt tucked into his grey firm fitting culottes, which are held in place by a brown leather belt. It is common for him to cover the top of his head with a brown fedora and his legs with fake rabbit feet and stirrup boots when he goes out in public.

During the middle of the film, he loses his fake legs after being trapped in quicksand and being pulled out by Meg, and later on, he loses his jacket to a tribe of pigs, allowing him to run more freely and dodge the darts of the pig tribe with his arm feathers. Eventually, he removed his hat, gaining confidence in his appearance.

It is only towards the end of the film that he is wearing only his green sleeveless shirt and gray culottes, but is now wearing a brown leather sleeveless crop top vest, and his ears are up, as opposed than being droopy throughout the film.
