Chip Griffin is one of the two main protagonists, alongside Peter Griffin of the Family Guy episode "Vestigial Peter". He is the vestigial version of Peter.
He was voiced by Seth MacFarlane.
Appearance[]
He is a vestigial version of Peter Griffin. He wears a white shirt and green pants and has similar hair like Peter Griffin. He looks like Peter, except he has a high-pitched voice.
History[]
While Peter and Lois go clothes shopping after church, Peter finds a big lump growing on the side of his neck. Lois is worried it might be a tumor, so they go to see Dr. Elmer Hartman for a checkup. Dr. Hartman opens up Peter's neck, and Chip pops out. Peter is surprised and decides he'll get used to it. Later, Peter and Lois come home. And Peter asks Chris and Meg that if they remembered when they were babies they wanted a neck uncle. Chip pops up, proclaiming they know got a neck uncle now. The Griffin Family then get to know Chip. Brian suggests that Chip seems pretty dangerous, but Chip congrats him on saving the world with his PRUIS.
Peter Griffin and Chip then go on a camping trip and sing Michael Row the Boat Ashore. A bear then comes and roars which frightens Peter. Chip suggests he gently stroke the bear's nose, counter clock-wise. Peter does so, and they continue singing Michael Row the Boat Ashore, and the bear joins in.
The next morning, Lois asks Peter and Chip what was in store for the day. Chip suggests they do a vigorous power walk around the neighborhood. But Peter, disagrees and says he was thinking they just take it easy. Lois says that Peter is sounding like a stick in the mud. But Peter says he's being honest, like George Washington.
At work, Chip enjoys hanging out with Peter at his job and rants while Peter is working. Angela then comes in his work station and asks if he finished his purchasing report, Chip then says that her voice sounds like God sneezing. Angela gets freaked out at it. Chip asks if she likes crab and there is a crab restaurant around the corner, Peter then asks what he is doing, and Chip says he's using his "knowledge of the local food scene to make Angela go to bed with him!" It then cuts to Chip and Angela doing drugs in bed, Peter sits there and says "he can tastes what he eats!" Later, Peter and Chip watch a Tennis match on TV, Chip repeatedly says, "Wow!" over and over again, much to Peter's annoyance.
The next day, Peter asks Dr. Hartman if he can remove Chip from his neck. But, Dr. Hartman says that he could die from the procedure. But says that if he survives he'll let him take any prize off the shelf. So, the next day Dr. Hartman and the doctors do the operation. Lois and the rest of the family wait, nervously. After hours and hours. Dr. Hartman claims that Peter has died. But however, it turns out Peter survived the procedure, Lois asks if Chip is okay, and Chip runs out of the hospital room. And the family hug Chip being glad that he survived. Peter tells Chip that Chip can go out and make a real life for himself. But Lois says Chip is staying with them, much to Peter's dismay.
The next day, Peter returns home from work and finds out Chip redecorated the living room, and dug a lake in the backyard. Peter yells at them to get out off the lake, but Lois tells Peter he used to great like Chip. Later, Peter overhears his family singing the theme song, and refuses to join them.
At The Drunken Clam Peter tells Joe and Quagmire that he is getting annoyed with Chip. Quagmire thinks Peter is referring to Chocolate Chip. But Peter says that they gave him back to Kenya. And decides to kill him.
The next day, Peter returns home with a dingo and takes it to the kitchen. Peter suggests they play steak catch, but ends up getting attacked by the dingo. Stewie Griffin comes in asking if he should give up on breakfast, the dingo then runs away with Stewie in it's mouth. Chip then yells at Peter after he finds out the Dingo was meant to eat him and asks why he would do that. Peter says his family loved him, and his life was fine before Chip showed up. Chip then yells at Peter and tells him, his life was fine before he met him, and leaves the house. Peter then feels happy he finally got rid of Chip and claims it's easy as the creation of techno music.
Later, the rest of the Griffin Family is watching TV, Lois then asks Peter where Chip is and says she hasn't seen him all day. Peter claims he threw Chip out, much to the family's dismay. Meg says that it could be dangerous for Chip in the big world, Stewie then suggests they look for him in the ball pit at McDonald's, but tells them to leave him there and he'll conduct the search. Lois agrees with Meg and tells the rest of the family they are going to find Chip and bring him home. Peter tells the family to do whatever they want and that he'll stay home.
While the family is out looking for Chip, Peter realizes that there is no more beer. He goes done to the basement wearing heels and falls down the stairs, injuring his legs. Chip returns to the Griffins house and tries to apologize to Peter. He finds Peter injured down in the basement and rushes down to help, he straightens Peter's leg, causing Peter to scream in pain, and gets a rope and a tennis racket and pulls him up the stairs. Halfway up the stairs, he farts a little one, causing Peter to laugh.
Later, Peter is in the hospital with a broken leg, Dr. Hartman says he is lucky that he would've never made it. Peter then offers that Chip could be part of the family, but Chip says he wants to explore the world himself, much to the family's shock.
A few days later, Peter and the family tie Chip up to a balloon. As they say their goodbyes, they wave until Chip is high up in the air. Chip then becomes part of ABC's The Middle and calls it "loud garbage!"
Chip later makes an appearance in Season 19, Episode 15, "Customer of the Week". When Lois announces her plan to win Customer of the week at a coffee shop, Meg breaks the fourth wall and asks if they're giving Seth's voice a rest, to which Peter, Stewie and Brian nod. Other characters voiced by MacFarlane (Dr. Hartman, Brian's cousin Jasper, Glenn Quagmire, Tom Tucker, God, Carter Pewterschmidt, Seamus Levine and Quamire's transgender Father Ida) also show up and nod. Chip pops up from Peter's neck and nods too. Even the Kool-Aid Man nods as he comes through the wall.
