Heroine Overview

There's not even anything left to come falling down at this point...
~ Chito to Yuuri describing their gruelling adventure in the Last Stop chapter.

Chito (チト) is the main protagonist of the 2014 manga series Girls' Last Tour and the 2017 anime adaptation, along with Yuuri. Chito is one of the last remaining survivors on Earth, alongside Yuuri, after an unknown apocalypse that caused the eradication of nearly all human life. She and Yuuri are also the survivors of the remnants of civilization, before they both set on a personal journey to reach the megacity's highest layer.

Chito is voiced by Inori Minase in Japanese, who also voiced other characters including Rem in Re:Zero, Ciel Kirahoshi in KiraKira☆Pretty Cure A La Mode, Sophia Ascart in I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flags, and Hestia in Is It Wrong To Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?. In her English voice she is voiced by Catherine Thomas, who voices other characters including Kohaku Tsukishiro's teenage self in Iroduku: The World of Colors, and Yui Yuigahama in OreGairu.

Appearance[]

Chito is a young girl with a plain face and large, black-colored eyes. She has black hair tied as twintails that falls down to her chest. Her usual outfit comprises of a green military jacket, pants, and a metal Brodie helmet, gloves, and brown boots.

Personality[]

Chito is literate and can read and write in Contemporary Kana, the language that is commonly seen in the Girls' Last Tour series. Despite Chito's drive into reading, she is, however, unable to read ancient lettering systems including Kanji and Latin.

Oftentimes, Chito is known to be the pragmatic voice of reason of the duo against Yuuri's rather innocent and naive personality. Because of this Chito's personality often comes into conflict with Yuuri's.

Chito is also a known bookworm, where she is shown to have lots of books she picks up throughout her journey with Yuuri, going so far in piling more books she has found later on at the megacity's enormous library. Because of this, Chito is known to be obsessive over it, and even heatedly scolded Yuuri at one instance in the "Journal" chapter after she burnt one of the books, named as "Kappa". Sometimes, however, Yuuri calls Chito out on it, stating that she cannot even read most of the books she picks.

Chito also keeps a journal to record her experiences throughout their journey, but she later burns it, along with the other books she collected during the "Loss" chapter. She typically drives the Kettenkrad as its own driver, which later finally breaks from its penultimate journey to the highest layer in the "Loss" chapter, causing Chito to break down in tears.

Chito is known for being acrophobic throughout the series, who is deeply scared of heights.

Abilities[]

  • Skilled Driving - Chito is known to drive the Kettenkrad a lot throughout the series, and she is skilled in driving one.

Trivia[]

  • In the very last panel of the 6th Volume of the Girls' Last Tour manga, it is assumed that Chito and Yuuri have been deceased after taking a long nap within the mysterious black rock at the megacity's highest layer. The scene with the author's (Tsukumizu's) afterword reveals Chito and Yuuri in what seems to be a wheat field.
    • According to Jakan1404's comment from a Redditor's post, it is somehow theorized that the wheat field that Chito and Yuuri stand at the end of the Girls' Last Tour manga is connected to the Shimeji Simulation universe, given the close similarity of the wheat field that was shown in Shimeji Simulation and in the ending of Girls' Last Tour.
  • While Chito called her past caretaker as "grandpa", it is unknown if she is related to him.
  • Chito and Yuuri made a cameo appearance in Chapter 13 from Tsukumizu's other manga Shimeji Simulation.
    • Chito and Yuuri are neighbors at a dilapidated apartment complex with Shijima Tsukishima, the main character of the same manga.

Quotes[]
