Choi Nam-ra is a main character of the first season of the Korean Netflix drama All of Us Are Dead. She is considered the top student of Hyosan High School, and became the class president due to the influence of her rich family. She has a romance with Lee Su-hyeok.
Personality[]
As the class president, she is highly intelligent, responsible, and disciplined, but she initially struggles to connect with her classmates due to her quiet and distant nature. She often prioritizes her studies over socializing, which makes her seem cold or indifferent to others.
However, after the zombie outbreak, Nam-ra's true character shines. She proves to be brave, selfless, and protective of her friends, despite battling her urges as a half-zombie. She develops stronger bonds with her classmates, especially with Lee Su-hyeok, who helps her open up emotionally. Over time, she embraces her hybrid nature and chooses to use her abilities to help others rather than giving in to her zombie instincts.
Biography[]
When a zombie outbreak spreads throughout Hyosan High School, Nam-ra is one of the students fighting for survival. At first, she remains emotionally distant from the group but gradually bonds with them as they work together to escape.
Nam-ra's fate changes dramatically when she is bitten by Yoon Gwi-nam, a bully who has become a half-zombie. However, instead of turning into a full zombie, Nam-ra transforms into a hambie—a hybrid with enhanced strength, hearing, sense of smell, and rapid healing while retaining her human consciousness. This transformation becomes both a blessing and a curse, as she struggles to resist her hunger for human flesh. Despite the risk she poses, her friends—especially Lee Su-Hyeok—support and trust her.
As the series progresses, Nam-ra proves to be a valuable ally, using her heightened abilities to protect the group. However, she ultimately chooses to separate from them, realizing that she cannot fully control her urges and does not belong in either the human or zombie world. In the final scenes, she is implied to be leading a group of other half-zombies, suggesting she has found a new purpose beyond human society while hiding from the military.
