Choichiro Hikari is the main protagonist of The☆Ultraman. He is a former space station worker and a member of SGP who became Ultraman Jonias’s human host while returning back to Earth.

The☆Ultraman[]
While on his way to Earth to meet up with the Science Guard Party, he was met by a red and silver giant known as Ultraman Joneus, who went on to merge with him after informing him that an upcoming threat was going to happen. Unbeknownst to Choichiro, Joneus chose him as his human host after he saw him save his entire space station from a caterpillar like monster that was trying to eat through it, all while his oxygen was depleting.
Like most human host’s, he began defending the Earth from giant monsters and alien invaders, with the help of Joneus’s power, all while keeping his role as Joneus’s host as secret.

Chorichiro Hikari is a brave, kindhearted, and compassionate person. It is known that he also has romantic feelings towards Amia (the younger sister to Ultraman Joneus), who also shares the same romantic feelings towards Hikari in return.

- Choichiro Hikari is the first animated protagonist in the Ultraman Series.
- He is also the second Showa Ultra's human host that only appeared in just one series and he was never seen again. The first was Kotaro Higashi in Ultraman Taro.
