Chris Argent was a former antagonist to supporting anti-heroic protagonist from the supernatural drama Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf: The Movie. He is Allison Argent's father and the son of Gerard.

Chris Argent is very protective towards his daughter and his family. He sometimes hates Scott. After Victoria Argent died, he retires from hunting werewolves and joins Scott and his friends to help them to stop the menace. He hates his father Gerard Argent who has used him for bad plans, Chris decides to renounce hunting werewolves and joins Scott McCall and his Wolf Pack to fight the villains who terrorize the city.

He is also a friend of Melissa McCall and helps her to find the information about terrifying creatures and other monsters who haunt the city with their disastrous powers that are potentially mortal for living beings. After Allison dies in the arms of Scott, he decides to fight the Oni responsable for his daughter's death with the help of Scott and his friends.

History

Christopher Argent was born in the 1970s to Gerard Argent and an unnamed woman. Along with his sister, Kate, Chris was trained to become a ruthless hunter at an early age. When Chris was eighteen years old, he forged six silver bullets with the Argent fleur de lis as testament to the code. Afterwards, he was sent on his first gun deal by Gerard and traveled to Japan. However, Gerard intentionally left out the fact that the buyers were the Yakuza so he could test his son's improvising and survival skills. Five Oni appeared as the Yakuza drew their guns. The Oni began cutting down the men in pursuit of the Yakuza leader who was possessed by a nogitsune. Chris survived by shooting one of the Oni with a silver bullet when he saw Katashi was taking on an Oni himself. Though the bullet went straight through the Oni's head, the silver bullet shattered its mask and the survivors were able to escape.

After this, Chris married another hunter Victoria Argent, and had a daughter, Allison. However, they decided to secretly hunt supernatural creatures behind their daughter's back and decreed they would not tell her until she reached eighteen years old. At the same time, Chris worked as a federally licensed firearms detail. They continued to live in San Francisco in 2010 until late December 2010 or January 2011. After hearing news that Laura Hale was killed by another werewolf, Chris and his family returned to deal with the threat of the Alpha.

Season Five

Chris returned in the second half of the season to aid Scott and the McCall pack with the Beast of Gevaudan. Because none of them knew anything about the Beast, Chris was forced to cure his father with yellow wolfsbane and gain information about the Beast from Gerard. At the end of the season, Chris reveals that he and Scott have been working together the entire time.

Personality

Regardless of the supernatural creature, Chris hunted it down. He was extremely overprotective of his daughter and disapproved of her relationship with Scott McCall especially after learning he was a werewolf. Unlike his father and sister, Chris was the most honorable and followed the code to the letter and disapproved of anyone who did not follow it. He later began to see the man his father truly was, especially after his father convinced Victoria to commit suicide and manipulating Allison due to her grief.

By season 4, Argent has seen all the good Scott and Allison have done and helped the McCall pack protect Beacon Hills from supernatural threats. He lives by his daughter's new code to protect innocent humans and supernatural creatures. By this point, Chris was disgusted by his father's genocide and both Kate's involvement in the Hale family fire.

• Hunting Skills: Chris is a skilled hunter, having hunted werewolves, a Kanima, and Berserker.

• Supernatural Lore: Due to the Argent family bestiary, Chris is very knowledgeable about the supernatural world. He knows the weaknesses of werewolves, including wolfsbane and mountain ash. After the Beast of Gevaudan, Chris learned about the Argent family story of his ancestors, Marie-Jeanne, and Henry Argent, calling the former the "First Argent Hunter."
• Multilingual: Chris appears to know how to speak French, As he was able to translate his daughter's new code from French to English in a matter of seconds.
• Medical knowledge: Being a hunter, Argent has some level of medical skills. He taught his daughter how to sew a wound back up, as she managed to stitch up Scott's wounded side after being scarred and clawed by The Alpha Twins. In "Orphaned," he removed a Berserker claw from Scott's side and assisted Melissa in helping Malia after shooting her when she was going on a rampage. He also told Melissa how to create 9 herbal remedy after being severely wounded by the Ghost Riders.

• Despite Chris claiming to be a werewolf hunter, he has never actually done so on-screen.
  • He also hunted other creatures, such as Kanimas and Berserkers.
