Charles Irving "Chuck" Bartowski is the titular main protagonist of NBC's series of the same name. He's husband of Sarah Walker and best friend of Morgan Grimes.
He is portrayed by Zachary Levi, who also played Shazam in the DCEU, Fandral in the MCU, Flynn Rider in Tangled, Toby Seville in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Rocky Rhodes in Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, and Arcade Gannon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Devoted to his former CIA handler Sarah, the two are romantically involved since the third season and are married in the fourth season finale.
Personality[]
Chuck is a swell and well-meaning guy who works at the Buy More's Nerd Herd desk. Likewise, he intends to help others when they need it. Chuck is very childish and asks like a little boy who never grows up. For example, after a customer realizes that he's failed to tape his daughter's ballet recital because he didn't realize he hadn't bought digital tape for his camera, Chuck simply arranges for the Nerd Herd to record the ballet recital in the store, free of charge. He also abhors violence when the situation calls for it.

- Intersect Abilities: Chuck had multiple iterations of the Intersect downloaded into his brain across the series.
- Intersect 1.0 Download (Formerly): Through the Intersect Chuck had access to a variety of advanced skills. Through the first iteration of it he had access to almost the entire U.S government's trade secrets and gathered intelligence, and could access mass amounts of information on numerous individuals, though it caused him some discomfort and potential trauma depending on the contents of the files. Chuck lost access to the 1.0 intersect after being shown a special image sequence by his father, Stephen, which successfully removed the program.
- Fulcrum Intersect Download (Formerly): Chuck undertook an undercover operation investigating a suspicious suburban neighborhood, which was actually a front for a research project by Fulcrum, A rogue government operation. During that mission Chuck accidentally downloaded the Fulcrum iteration of the Intersect, which contained Information and personnel files on Fulcrum agents.
- Intersect 2.0 Download (Formerly): After downloading the second iteration of the Intersect, Chuck additionally gained the ability to instantly learn training manuals on numerous subjects. He could learn languages or martial arts, allowing him to temporarily change his skillset to fit any scenario, whether it be communication or advanced combat. This version was later removed forcibly by Clyde Decker, at the end of the fourth season.
- Genius Level Intellect: Even before downloading the intersect Chuck was a brilliant technical specialist and mechanical engineer, regarded as one of the most brilliant students attending Stanford in his time. His academic ability was high enough for him to have ended up on the list of the CIA's recruitment considerations, and was being scouted by them before Bryce Larkin's interference.
- Master Hacker: Chuck is an outstanding computer hacker, becoming famed in internet and deep web circles as one the best hackers in the world. His computer skills were so good, he was given a job doing tech support for Buy more, despite his lack of a college degree.
- Expert Engineer: Chuck is an exceptional mechanical engineer, enough to gain a job at Buy More and later get offered a job at Ted Rourke's company, despite Chuck never finishing college.
- Expert Spy: After training as a spy both before and after losing the Intersect, Chuck became a skilled intelligence operative, gaining competent enough skill in espionage that he could infiltrate Vladimir Volkoff's company offices and evade security for a considerable time.
- Master Tactician Following his training by the CIA, Chuck showcased newfound skills in tactics and strategy, allowing him to effectively lead his team when Daniel Shaw was incapacitated, and later lead it permanently after Shaw's betrayal and subsequent incarceration.
- Expert Businessman: He also showed excellent business management skills, allowing him to found his own company and buy out the Buy More brand.
- Expert hand-to-hand combatant/Martial Artist: Through his training from the CIA, Chuck became capable of defending himself without relying on the intersect. Over the course of the later seasons Chuck's combat skills improved over time, enough that that he was able to hold his own against Daniel Shaw, an extremely skilled veteran operative, despite the Intersect being damaged. In the last season, following Shaw's brief return, Chuck's combat skills had risen enough that he could give him a fair fight even having lost the intersect, although Shaw was still more skilled.
- Expert Marksman: From the beginning of the series Chuck is shown to be a surprisingly competent marksman despite lacking any training. After being trained by the CIA, Chuck became a very skilled marksman, though not to the level of Sarah or Casey.
- Weapon Proficiency: Chuck is also shown to have some competency with weapons.
