Chuck Wallace, best shortened to Chuck, is a supporting character in the We Bare Bears franchise.
Chuck is Wallace's younger sister, and is the shortest and youngest of the Poppy Rangers. Although Chuck is the newest member of the Poppy Rangers, she is also the most reliable, mature and bravest of the Poppy Rangers. Chuck is a brave and adventurous little girl scout/park ranger and troop who has a close friendship with Ranger Tabes and the bears, more especially Grizzly. Similar to Ice Bear, Chuck is shown to be the most capable in several methods and scenarios thanks to her sheer valor and hyperawareness, as well as her skill in kickball. As such, Chuck has the combination of being the cleverest and the most reliable of the Poppy Rangers, like Wallace. Chuck shows high commitment to her aforementioned fellow Poppy Rangers. Outside of her career as a park ranger like Ranger Tabes, Chuck typically plays with the other Poppy Rangers and has fun with them, more especially by flying kites. More especially, Chuck is an expert participant of the annual Peewee Ranger Games, attending to defeat her and the Poppies' arch-rival counterparts, the Ivy Rangers, and was successful in doing so with the Poppies and Grizz's assist. Thanks to Grizz's assist, Chuck and the Poppies would go on to defeat the Ivies more times in the next years of the Peewee Ranger Games, eventually leading to the Ivy Rangers' deserved disqualification.
Chuck is virtually silent, unlike the other Poppy Rangers.
Physical appearance[]
Chuck shares a similar physical appearance to Wallace (such as her tomboyish appearance, along with an even shorter height and smaller size), with the exceptions being that her skin complexion is slightly more lighter, her figure is more thinner and smaller and Chuck's hair is more of a dark blonde, and is stylized in pigtails. Chuck's "Poppy Ranger" outfit consists of a light moss-green short-sleeved shirt, overlaid with a yellow bandanna around the collar with a single olive stripe across the middle. As well, this includes green-toned khaki shorts, tennis shoes of the same color and tube socks underneath. Over-top the entire outfit is a dark green sash.
In the annual Peewee Ranger Games, Chuck's "Peewee Ranger Games" uniform consists of an orange shirt with the number "six" on it, along with wearing red shorts and, unlike the other Poppies' traditional orange caps, having a dark sepia-bronze cap with a symbol of a unicorn's head.
Personality[]
Although Chuck is virtually silent throughout the series, Chuck is overall characterized as selfless and benevolent, similar to the other Poppy Rangers, as well as her older sister, Wallace. As the newest member of the Poppy Rangers, Chuck is shown to have not only high loyalty, but she is also the most experienced and most fearless of the rest of the Poppy Rangers, showing the most of her loyalty towards Ranger Tabes, Grizz Bear and her fellow Poppy Rangers, including her older sister, Wallace. Not only is she a reliable and faithful sidekick of the Poppies, she is also essential and virtually resourceful to the Poppy Rangers' childhood and teamwork. Additionally, Chuck shows the most of her pristine loyalty towards her senior twin sister, Wallace, as she comforts her after being unlawfully assaulted and injured by an Ivy Ranger while attempting to win the Peewee Ranger Games.
Chuck is best known for her skill in the annual Peewee Ranger Games, notable for being the most reliable and skilled in kickball out of the rest of the Poppy Rangers, as said by Ranger Tabes that Chuck's sentiments are required to defeat the Ivy Rangers in the annual Peewee Ranger Games, which is necessary after the Poppies have lost to the Ivies up to three times. This is demonstrated by Chuck saving the Poppies from falling and failing from grace after Grizz foiled their winning streak in the fourth year of the Peewee Ranger Games by kicking the ball at a surprising distance and with surprising strength despite her minuscule size.
Furthermore, out of the rest of the Poppies, Chuck seems to be the most forgiving and relaxed with Grizz and his incompetence, thus lacking even the slightest grudge against Grizz's incompetence and lack of skill in kickball during the annual Peewee Ranger Games, and even cheers for Grizz upon defeating the Ivy Rangers in the final round of the Peewee Ranger Games, even despite ruining the Poppies' winning streak at first and goofing up for a couple of times in the final round.
Biography[]
As the newest and experienced member of the Poppy Rangers, Chuck is often perceived as the bravest, reliable, benevolent, ambitious, cleverest and composed member of the girl-scout group, like Wallace. Prior to the events of We Bare Bears, Chuck was a simple school student and Wallace's infant twin sister, and both of the girls have developed a pure friendship and bond upon her first interaction with the other Poppy Rangers (Nguyen, Diaz, Murphy and Parker), and throughout the early timeline of her childhood, Chuck and Wallace were raised by her unidentified parents and she spent most of her early childhood hanging out and playing with the other Poppies, hanging out with her older twin sister, Wallace, as well as flying kites and exploring, and more especially participating in the annual Peewee Ranger Games to defeat their arch-rival counterparts, the Ivy Rangers, the Poppies' bullies. Like Wallace, Chuck aspires to be a park/forest ranger, like Ranger Tabes, as she shows pure passion and experience in nature, like Tabes and Wallace do.
Upon first meeting Dana Tabes, Chuck immediately saw Tabes as a mother-like figure and has shown high commitment towards her, and has relentlessly put her best efforts to attain all of the Poppy Badges possible from Ranger Tabes by succeeding several missions and objectives, even through severe risks that involved costing her eye for the badge relative to it. Years after Chuck was dedicated to working with Ranger Tabes to attain badges, she was officialized as a Poppy Ranger, along with Nguyen, Parker, Murphy, Diaz and Chuck's older twin sister, Wallace, before the Poppies meet Grizz and his brothers.
Trivia[]
- Like the other Poppy Rangers and her senior twin sister, Wallace, Chuck has never had an interaction with Panda Bear and Ice Bear, but would still show an affable and kindhearted disposition towards them nonetheless if she did interact with them.
- Chuck is the only Poppy Ranger with a sibling (Wallace), and is the only Poppy Ranger with a family member involved. This distinction is carried over with Nguyen, who was seen calling her dad in the episode, Ranger Games.
- Chuck is the only Poppy Ranger who does not speak throughout the entire series. Reflecting this, Chuck is the only Poppy Ranger that does not refer Grizz Bear as "Bear Guy."
- Chuck's full name is ironically a boy's name, despite being a female, like Wallace.
- Chuck Wallace is the second major character in the We Bare Bears series to not speak, instead uttering simple vocalizations, the other being Baby Ice Bear. Despite Nguyen and Parker being described as "quiet and confident" in their character portraits, Chuck is the only Poppy Ranger to not speak at all, unlike Nguyen and Parker.
- Chuck is the only Poppy Ranger to not have a character portrait, unlike her older twin sister, Wallace.
- In the annual Peewee Ranger Games, Chuck Wallace's shirt shows the number, "six," which references Chuck being the sixth and newest member of the Poppy Rangers.
