El Chómpiras

The Chómpiras is a main character in the sketch Los Caquitos, played by Roberto Gómez Bolaños , whose real name is 'Aquiles Esquivel Madrazo' . He is a close friend of El Botija .

History

On some occasions, Chómpiras himself claimed to be called 'Parangaricutiridolfo' , 'Parangaricutigodinez' , 'Mimí' and 'Luisa Lane' . It is in the 1993 chapter "Detainees in command / Hairdresser on the street", where the Chómpiras claimed to be called Mimí, because his father was a fan of the adventures of the Miguelito Mouse and because when he was born they thought he was a woman. It was not until she was fourteen that they realized that she was actually a boy, because instead of stealing a doll, she stole from the shop assistant, one day when her father took her to steal a toy store. In an episode on horoscopes (1990), Chómpiras mentions that he was born on October 12, the same day of the Discovery of America.

In another episode broadcast in 1992 when he was about to marry Doña Espotaverderona (mother of Chimoltrufia ), he claims that he has a cousin named 'Eloy' , 'Eloy Madrazo' and also in other episodes.

According to the 1986 chapter "La Señora de Frente", the 'Chómpiras' claims to have four children who "curiously inherited the profession" from their father: the thief. He also tells of having had five women in the course of his life who shared their sorrows and joys, this is not considered canonical.

He is a character played by Chespirito from the play "11 y 12", it is a truck driver very similar physically to Chómpiras but who does not like being foul-mouthed, he says. He also mentions in some episodes that he had a twin brother who died of starvation a few days after his birth. Additionally in the saga " 'The costume, the mask and something more' " from 1974 it was said that he is a cousin of the "" "Chapulín Colorado" , this he reveals to the "Peterete" before a question from him that he has a cousin who is a thief called the 'Chómpiras ', this is not considered canonical to be called' Parangaricutiridolfo ',' Parangaricutigodinez ',' Mimí 'and' Luisa Lane '. It is in the 1993 chapter "Detainees in command / Hairdressing on the street", where the Chómpiras claimed to be called Mimí, because his father was a fan of the adventures of the Miguelito Mouse and that when he was born they thought he was a woman. It was not until he was fourteen that they realized that he was actually a boy, because instead of stealing a doll, he stole from the shop assistant, one day when his father took him to steal a toy store. In an episode on horoscopes (1990), Chómpiras mentions that he was born on October 12, the same day of the Discovery of America.

In the episode "Chómpiras' birthday", he was worried about what everyone was going to kill him and the Chimoltrufia consoled him by dedicating poetry or songs to him.

Personality

The Chómpiras is a middle-aged man, somewhat carefree and crestfallen. He is usually flirtatious and womanizer (especially with women), but he avoids marriage, since that imposes a commitment and the "law of least effort" does not go with commitments. He is a man with a sense of humor; He is chivalrous and has respect for hierarchies, although the latter does it more for comfort than for conviction. His physical constitution is regular, since he was a slender man who grew white with the maturity of the "40 and everyone" and of course, his economy does not allow him to eat three times a day and thus reaffirm his appearance as a mature man.

Wardrobe

El Chómpiras wore black pants and a black jacket, wore a striped black and white (gray) shirt, possibly as an inmate. He usually wears a beard of a few days (which refuses to shave) and a black cap. Interestingly, this outfit is identical to the dancers accompanying Elvis Presley in the Jailhouse Rock song video.

Phrases

  • But take it for the nice side.
  • What am I what?! ... Ah, yes, yes, yes.
  • No, hand! Not!.

Appearances

Being a main character, El Chómpiras appears in all the episodes of Los Caquitos, in the sketches of the 70s and within the program "Chespirito" in the 80s and 90s, with the exception of the sketch "El perrito callejero" by nineteen ninety five.

Other appearances

  • In the animated El Chavo episode "Those little wheels, Señor Barriga!", Chómpiras appears in a cameo on a sign together with Botija.
  • Likewise, it appears in a commemorative animated short as a tribute to Roberto Gómez Bolaños together with El Chavo del Ocho , Chaparrón Bonaparte , Dr. Chapatín and El Chapulín Colorado, this was done in the same style as the series of El Chavo Animado, also by Anima Estudios.
