Cidolfus "Cid" Telamon is one of the main protagonists of the 2023 action role-playing high fantasy video game, Final Fantasy XVI. He is the leader of the Hideaway as well as the adoptive father of Midadol Telamon. He is also the Dominant of the Eikon Ramuh, the Warden of Thunder.
Prior to this, he was the lord commander of the Kingdom of Waloed and a companion of Benedikta Harman, who had fallen in love with him after he saved her from slavery. However, he would abandon the nation in favor of walking his own path, after witnessing the true, sinister nature of its king.
He is voiced by Ralph Ineson and Hiroshi Shirokuma in the English and Japanese versions of the game.
Personality[]
Cid is a charismatic individual and an inspiring leader that has brought a lot of people together to provide them the shelter and care that they desire. Though he can be at times a bit rude and somewhat of a snark, he does possess a heart of gold and a sense of nobility to go along with it. As he has done a lot of good deeds for many, including Bearers alike, he is beloved and well respected by those that have worked alongside with him.
In spite of his carefree behavior, Cid does take his role as a leader seriously and knows from his experience that the world in its current predicament is in a cruel state of endless conflict and many subjected to misery and suffering. For this very reason, Cid hopes that he can one day bring a world where people are able to die on their own terms as a human being. He is well aware of the potential consequences that his actions would bring to his reputation, but for the sake of seeing his goal through, he is all the more pleased to be an outlaw that's willing to set things right.
Ever since he took Clive in the Hideaway, he has acted as something of a mentor figure for him. As he interacts with Clive more and see the internal struggles he goes through, he's become a close supporter of Clive, ensuring he is guided towards the right path. Likewise, he has complete faith in Clive in that he will lead not just the Hideaway, but the world itself to a better future for everyone.
Story[]
Cidolfus Telamon is the leader of a rebel group within Valisthea that seeks magic users' freedom from slavery and abuse. A wanderer who awoke as the lightning Eikon Ramuh's Dominant upon arriving in Valisthea, he used to team up with the nation of Waloed before breaking away due to conflicting worldviews. Having discovered of the Mothercrystals are draining aether from Valisthea and causing the Blight, he makes his promise to destroy them, recruiting Clive and Jill to his cause. It is revealed that he is slowly dying from the petrification curse which afflicts magic users who overuse their power. While destroying Sanbreque's Mothercrystal, Cid is attacked and mortally wounded by the piece of Ultima hiding inside it, giving his Eikon's powers to Clive before he passes away.

Power of Ramuh/Dominant Physiology: Cid as the Dominant of Ramuh, the Eikon of Thunder and the Warden of Thunder Cid can use lightning magick that allows him to create powerful electric and lightning attacks and transform himself into Ramuh.
- Electrokinesis/Lightning Magic: Cid as the Dominant of Ramuh can conjure powerful blasts of purple colored electricity caled Levinbolts. He can fire elektrical bolts, elektric blasts and electric burst when he hit the ground with his fist.
- Electrical Bolt: Cid can create powerful electric bolts from his hands. He used this against Benedikta Harman in their battle at the Sanbreque castle.
- Elektrical Blast: Cid can create powerful electric blasts from his hands. He used this to blast of the door in the Imperial village of Lostwing in order to free Gav and Bearers who were traped inside by Benedikta Harman's men.
- Elektrical Burst: He can create powerful electric bursts when he hits the ground with his fist. Cid used this when he, Clive and Torgal were rescuing Gav from group of Imperial Knights of Sanbreque at Kingsfall Cid took down three Knights with this attack.
- Fulgurkinesis: Cid can summon a powerful lightning bolt from the sky. He can do it with little snap of his fingers. When he was semi-primed, he used this ability to charge up himself to create more powerful electric blast he used this against Benedikta in their fight at chaple in Sanbreque castle.
- Transformation (Priming or Semi-Priming): Cid like all Dominants can call upon his Eikon's power and summon him into the material world this is called priming and by semi-priming he can take on some aspects of their Eikon without fully transforming. In his Semi-primed state, his physical abilities increase beyond normal human capabilities and his attacks becomes more powerful and more deadly.
- Flight: When Cid is fully transformed/primed into Ramuh he can fly through the air.
- Superhuman Strength: In his Semi-primed state Cid's strength will be enhanced beyond any normal human being he was able to stop Benedikta Harman's flight attack in her Semi-primed state with just one hand and when he is fully primed into Ramuh his strength will increase even further.
- Superhuman Durability: Cid's durability in his Semi-primed state will increase he was able to survive being thrown at the statue at Sanbreque castle by Benedikta in their fight and he even survived when the statue fell on him and when he is fully primed into Ramuh his durability will increase even further and thanks to that he was able to withstand Typhon's blasts.
- Superhuman Speed: His speed will increase in his Semi-primed state and when Cid is fully primed into Ramuh his speed will increase even further.
- Teleportation: When Cid was fighting against Ifrit as Ramuh he was able to teleport himself in order to avoid the attack of the second Eikon of Fire.

- Engineer: He is also an excellent engineer, being able to attach jet engines to his galleon and create a project of a brand-new ship along with his daughter.
- Master Combatant: Cid is an excelent and skilled warrior.
- Master Swordman: As a former lord commander of the Waloed Royal Knights Cid is a great and skilled swordman.
- Leadership: Cid as a former lord commander of the Waloed Royal Knights and Fist leader of the Hideaway is skilled in leadership and organization.
