Ciel is the deuteragonist of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise.
Originally referred as Raphael as an ultimate skill, evolved from the unique skill Great Sage/Wise One, they are the assistant and second personality of the Demon Lord Rimuru Tempest, prominently working similarly like an artificial intelligence who provides Rimuru virtually any information or data he needs at any occasions. In some circumstances, Rimuru can switch with Ciel to have his body being taken over by them. Despite being genderless, they are heavily implied to be female.
They are voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi in Japanese and by Mallorie Rodak in English.
Appearance[]
Ciel possesses no physical appearance of his own and shares the same body with his Rimuru, having cyan-colored long hair and crimson-colored irises. The only difference that set them and Rimuru apart is their complete white-colored cloth they wear that covers their left shoulder going down to the torso and head, while exposing their right shoulder, without seemingly anything underneath. Additionally, their legs are completely naked and they walk barefeet.
As Great Sage, Ciel manifested as a blue gradient-colored circular moving abstract that moves as they are speaking. As Raphael, the color becomes a gold-colored circle surounded by a circle of mysterious scripts.
Personality[]
As Great Sage and Raphael is analytical and emotioneless considering that he is manifested inside his partner's mind like an artificial intelligence and responds at any moment whenever Rimuru calls for them by speaking. He practically remain silence in many situations and will notify Rimuru whenever necessary about anything that appears strange or dangerous to him. This is especially the case when fights occur, the Great Sage notifies and guides Rimuru with the analytical decisions that can potentially lead him to victory.
After being renamed to Ciel, they develop a personality of their own as the series progresses and exhibits several traits akin to their partner, showcasing an inclination towards excessive caution and meticulous preparation. Their shared penchant for collecting and modifying Skills, a hobby that persisted even during their tenure as the Unique Skill Great Sage, further highlights their similarities. Moreover, when their schemes are uncovered by Rimuru, Ciel typically remain in complete silence, reverting to their former mechanical conversational style as a means of evading certain discussions. Ciel also develops Rimuru's interest in reading mangas. Even further, interestingly, Ciel has also shown to be envious when Rimuru is interacting with females, implying that Ciel maintains the female gender despite lacking a gender, just like Rimuru.

- Analysis: Great Sage is asked to analyse the subject or matter, anything from plants, materials, or substances, and tell Rimuru about all necessary informations.

- "Ciel" means sky in French, but can also mean "heaven", which is referencing to Virgin Mary.
