Cindy Lou Who is the deuteragonist of the 2000 live-action adaptation of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. She serves a major role as a character who helps the Grinch move past his hatred of the holiday due to him being bullied by Augustus Maywho, the mayor of Whoville.
She was portrayed by Taylor Momsen.
Biography[]
Cindy-Lou Who falls into the stack of presents and starts going down where the presents go to take their stamps, The Grinch however, saves her from the posting stamp, and she thanks him for saving her. But shortly after he wraps her up like she's a present.
She is one of the only Whos expect for Martha May, believes that the Grinch is misunderstood and not mean, and thinks there is a good side in the Grinch.
When all the Whos wake up and see everything Christmas like was all gone in Whoville in Christmas morning, the mayor accuses her of robbing everyone and ruining Christmas. Shorty, however, her father stands up for her and she helps the Grinch return every item back to Whoville after sneaking aboard to his sleigh and tells him that no one should be alone on Christmas.
After wishing him a Merry Christmas, she gives him a soft kiss on the cheek, stating that his cheek is warm. They all sing in front of the Christmas tree and welcomes both Max and the Grinch to her family by the end of the movie.
Video game[]
Cindy-Lou Who appears in the film's loose video game adaptation, although her role is reduced a lot compared to the movie and she only appears twice in the story.
She first appears near the beginning of the same in which the Grinch infiltrates the post office and begins to shuffle the mail. Cindy comes across the Grinch and is spooked by his presence. The Grinch mockingly proclaims himself as "The Grinch" before running off. Unlike the film, she doesn't fall into the stack of presents.
Cindy later appears in the ending of the game, in which the Grinch returns to Whoville after trying to steal Christmas and apologises for his actions. Cindy forgives the Grinch and says that she always knew he was a good person, and asks him to sing with them.
