Cindy Lou Who is a sweet young girl from Dr. Seuss' storybook How the Grinch Stole Christmas appearing as a minor character, and the 2000 and 2018 films appearing as one of the main characters, serving as the tritagonist.
She was a two-year-old girl who lives in Whoville and plays a minor role in the story in the storybook.
In the 1966 animated special, she was voiced by the late June Foray. In the 2000 live-action film, she was portrayed by Taylor Momsen. In the 2018 film, she is voiced by Cameron Seely. Taylor in the 1989 Redubbed Version of the 1966 animated special, she was voiced by the Late Russi Taylor.
and now, she is voiced by Andrea Libman.
Broadway Musical[]
Cindy Lou was around six to twelve years old in the musical. She has four other siblings in her family: Boo Who, Danny Who, Deema Lou Who, and Mary Anne Who. She makes her first appearance in It's The Thought, Who Likes Christmas, I Hate Christmas Eve and Watchamo.
She appeared to be different from how the other kids dressed, they all wore red and white while she only wore a pink gown. She wakes up on Christmas Eve to meet the Grinch and sing Santa for a Day with the Grinch.
She's played by two little girls every Winter at the Olde Globe in San Diego. She was first portrayed by Vanessa Hudgens.
1966 film[]
The little Cindy Lou Who gets out of bed to get a drink of water, when she goes downstairs to get the drink of water, she finds the Christmas tree trying to go up the chimney and sees The Grinch, disguised as Santa Claus doing the whole thing.
Since she is still very young, she mistakes him as Santa, and asks him innocently why he is taking the Christmas tree. Since The Grinch himself sees that sweet innocence in this tiny young girl, he tells her that he is taking the tree to his workshop to fix a broken light, telling her he will return it on Christmas morning when she wakes up.
Then, the Grinch gets her a cup water and sends her back to bed, which is the only reference of him being kind with his tiny heart.

- Taylor Momsen became one of the leading rock singers and songwriters of the 2010’s, fronting the band "The Pretty Reckless".
- Cindy Lou Who's nightgown that she wore when the Grinch steals a Christmas tree resembles the dresses worn by the female smurfs in "Smurfs: The Lost Village" (2017).
- There is a character loosely based on her known as Cindy You-Know-Who, who has a similar but deviating history, But due to copyright and trademarks was never called Cindy Lou Who.
