Claire Peterson is the main protagonist of the 2015 erotic thriller movie The Boy Next Door. She is a high school teacher who is the target of Noah Sandborn's affections.
She was portrayed by Jennifer Lopez who also played Slim from Enough.

At the beginning, Claire abandons her husband Garrett in a huff, after she caught him cheating on her with another woman-his secretary. Her best friend Vicky Lansing encourages Claire to settle a divorce.
During her separation from her cheating husband, Claire takes an interest in Noah, her next door neighbor who seems like the perfect guy for her and her son to get along with. However, after Noah's superficial charm and seduction towards her followed with them spending a night of passion together, Claire immediately discovers that Noah is not as perfect as he seems, prior to his violent outburst after she (though kindly) rejected him and this alone slowly drives her back to reconciling with her husband.
Following an incident in which Noah, acting in defense of Kevin, brutally attacks school bully Jason Zimmer, breaking his skull, Vicky, the vice principal of the school, learns that Noah was expelled from his last school for disruptive behavior and expels him after he taunts her. Kevin gets ready for his "Fall Fling" dance date with his classmate Allie. At the dance, Claire checks a leak in the guys' toilet, where "I fucked Claire Peterson" is scribbled on the wall. When Noah comes out, he tries to rape Claire, but she defends herself by slamming her knee into his groin and tells him to keep away from her and Kevin. Claire then witnesses Noah and Allie having sex.
The next day, Noah leaves a printer running in Claire's classroom, with photos of them sleeping together scattered throughout. Claire removes all of the photographs before her students and the principal arrive. Garrett's automobile brakes fail, and he and Kevin narrowly avoid catastrophic injury. That evening, Noah attempts to blackmail Claire with a tape of them having sex, claiming that if she continues to sleep with him, he would release it, but she refuses again. Claire wants Vicky to distract Noah from his house so she may break in and destroy the tape. Horrified, she finds nude pictures of herself on the walls and on his laptop; she also finds instructions on tampering with the brakes of both Garrett's and Noah's parents' cars.
Claire learns the truth about Noah's family's vehicle tragedy from Ethan's investigator acquaintance. Noah, in the meantime, uses duct tape to bind and gag Vicky and a voice recording to entice Claire to her home. Claire phones 911 after finding Vicky dead with a cut throat, but Noah shows up. His mother killed herself when his father cheated on her, and he killed him and his mistress by cutting the brakes on his father's car in retaliation, he explains when she accuses him of killing his parents. Noah explains his belief that killing Garrett and Kevin will enable him and Claire to begin a new life together as he leads her to a barn where he has bound them.
Noah's conviction that she wants to be with him is eventually dispelled when Claire uses Kevin's EpiPen to stab him in the eye during the ensuing scuffle. Noah is furious and tries to murder the three, but Claire pulls a lever and kills Noah by dropping an engine on him. As paramedics and police arrive, Claire and Kevin assist an injured Garrett in leaving the burning barn.
