Clancee is a Serpentine hybrid and the lowest-ranking member of Nadakhan's Sky Pirate crew who served as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Flintlocke) of Season 6: Skybound and a minor antagonist in the tie-in graphic novel trilogy The Dark Island Trilogy in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. Despite his antagonistic role, he did serve as the deuteragonist of the "could-be-canon" novel The Splinter in the Blind Man's Eye.
Biography[]
Clancee is a hybrid between a Hypnobrai and a Venomari, despite his head being similar to an Anacondrai's. Due to his heritage, Clancee felt like an outcast amongst his Serpentine peers because he didn't belong with them. He aspired to be a Sky Pirate and was eventually recruited by Nadakhan to join the djinn's pirate crew to sail the seas of Ninjago. Despite being a pirate, Clancee is noted to get seasick and airsick easily.
After Nadakhan acquired the Realm Crystal from Hiroshi's Labyrinth, he rescued Clancee from the distant realm that he was trapped in. From there, he would assist his boss in stopping the Ninja from preventing Nadakhan from marrying Nya, even being promoted a rank due to Flintlocke attempting to start a mutiny. Eventually, though, Clancee was banished by Nadakhan after standing up to him because he had enough of the djinn's manipulation and lies.
Because of Jay's final wish to undo the events of Skybound, Clancee was banished back to the distant realm he was trapped in before. However, he would be summoned by Clouse in order to help him merge the Dark Island and Ninjago Island in one in order to disrupt the balance between light and dark. He was once again defeated by the ninja, and later departed on his own path, finding work at a bar in the Wailing Alps and hoping to be reunited with his crew one day.
When Lloyd Garmadon arrived at the bar one day, Clancee recognized him as one of the ninja. Once Lloyd left to go visit the Wishmaster, Clancee discreetly followed him, leaving a mop he affectionately called "Moppy" behind. The Serpentine hybrid followed Lloyd up the Wailing Alps. During this time Clancee thought of a variety of things, such as the final battle with Captain Soto and Misfortune's Keep. Whilst in his thoughts, Clancee began singing the sea shanties of his crew. Unfortunately, Lloyd overheard Clancee and attacked him.
However, Clancee explained that he had no intentions of attacking the Green Ninja and simply wanted to aid him in his adventure to climb the Wailing Alps. Lloyd and Clancee joined forces and made their way to the top of the Alps, where they met the Wishmaster - who turned out to be Fenwick, the former Master Writer of the Cloud Kingdom. Fenwick almost had Clancee killed by the creature Nimbus, until Lloyd gave into the Wishmaster's demands.
Personality[]
Clancee has a very nervous persona; he often trembles with his words and is relatively passive and quiet, but can occasionally stand up to those who berate and mistreat him, such as Nadakhan.
He is incredibly loyal, deeming the Sky Pirates as his family after he couldn't fit in with the Serpentine and seemed okay with his position as the lowest-ranking member of Nadakhan's crew. That being said, Clancee was also very excited at the prospect of Flintlocke getting demoted to a rank even lower than him, possibly hinting that he harbors some grudge towards the higher-ranking members of the crew.
Additionally, despite his ambitions to be a pirate, Clancee was very grateful and humble and likewise felt no need to wish for anything from Nadakhan, being content with his life as a Sky Pirate, as he had sought to have some form of companionship, being ostracized for most of his life.
Although he has his fair share of shortcomings, Clancee does have some morals; he was hesistant to make a wish to send the Ninja plummeting off the Misfortune's Keep that would lead to their demise, and gave Jay an eyepatch out of kindness after the former was badly beaten following a game of Scrap and Tap.
Appearance[]
Clancee is a Serpentine hybrid with a head resembling the Anacondrai, although he is part-Hypnobrai and part-Venomari His scales are light green in color and his eyes are yellow, as are members of the Venomari tribe. He has dark green scales on his chest and abdomen, and he has the Sky Pirates symbol tattooed on his chest. His left arm and a piece of the left side of his body are covered with an orange metal protector, the color of which, however, has dried to silver in some places. A brown-red belt is attached to this protector. Clancee also has brown gloves and dark green pauldrons. He is wearing dark green pants, but only on one leg, as he has a brown peg leg instead of his right leg.
