Life is a strange thing. We are the only ones who wish the Zone well and want to understand it not for our own benefit. Freedom, government scientists, it's all crap. But what is the law of meanness, it's not them who were driven to the swamps, but us.
~ Clear Sky members

Like the rest of us, I explore the Zone. It's the most amazing thing humankind has ever encountered. We shouldn't fight the Zone - we should research it, try to understand it and coexist peacefully. The Zone is here to stay, mark my words.
~ Clear Sky members

Clear Sky are the titular main protagonists of the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

Clear Sky is a a isolated scientific fraction, based in the Swamps. Unlike the governmental scientists, Clear Sky seeks to study the Zone and keep it balance.

History[]

Clear Sky was formed by former members of The Group, N.A. Lebedev, V.I. Suslov and E.F. Kalancha. It's unknown when the split happened, but Lebedev's awareness of the Zone's origin, implies that it happened after the second catastrophe in 2006. The former scientists settled on the Zone's corners, the Swamps, most likely to escape from C-Consciousness all-seeing eyes.

During the time prior the events of Clear Sky, the fraction slowly grew in size, recruiting more and more members, and with that, Clear Sky's main base became more and more secretive, allowing only to their members to know where it locates.

In 2011, the great emission happened, who changed the Zone, and devastated Clear Sky. Clear Sky were researches, not fighters. They were unable to fight of the barbarians who entered the Swamps. Fortunately for Clear Sky, they found Scar, a mercenary who happened to escort a group of Scientists through the Swamps. Lebedev found Scar's body as a anomaly, his nervous system is much stronger than a normal human's.

With Scar's help, Clear Sky were able to regain control over the Swamps, and later kick the Renegades out of the Swamps for good. Eventually, Lebedev and Beanpolev conclude that a group of stalkers penetrated the center of the Zone, and the emissions are the Zone's reaction. Lebedev directs Scar through the Zone, attempting to gather evidence on this group. Eventually, Scar found the group's stash in the undergrounds of Agroprom. Scar refers the location and the information about the group to Lebedev. Unfortunately for Clear Sky and Scar, Strelok escapes and blows up the tunnel to Prypiat, forcing the former to find another way to the Chernobyl NPP.

Clear Sky fighters under the leadership of Lebedev and the help of Scar and other mercs secures the bridge to Limansk, eliminating the Renegades that were guarding it. After opening the way to Limansk, Clear Sky, still with Scar make their way through endless waves of Monolith fanatics and some Bandits. In the end, Clear Sky finally reaches the ChNPP, where Scar successfully defeats Strelok, in hopes, that his death will be the end to the Zone's instability. However, their plan miserably backfired, Strelok's defeat release a emission, almost as stronger as the very first emission, that initially created the Zone. Both Scar and Strelok alongside hundreds pf people were abducted by the Monolith and put into brainwashing. Lebedev's fate, just like the fate of most of Clear Sky remains unknown.

Legacy[]

While Clear Sky ended its existence together with their technological prowess, except for the CS-3a body armor. The prototype EM1 Rifle, ended in the hands of the Monolith, who later updated it into the Gauss Rifle. Clear Sky's elite weapon, the FT-200M also ended up at the hands of the Monolith, and was nearly impossible to find anywhere else.
