Clorinde is a major character in the 2020 video game Genshin Impact, and she serve as one of the major characters of Chapter IV. She is strongest duelist in Fontaine, bodyguard of the Hydro archon, as well as a friend of and much younger than Navia Caspar.
She is voiced by Crystal Lee in English, Yui Ishikawa in Japanese, Zhao Hanyu in Chinese, and Shin Na-ri in Korean. Ishikawa also voiced as Mikasa Ackerman in Attack on Titan, 2B in Nier: Automata, Violet Evergarden in the titular series, Toki Asuma in Blue Archive, Rapi in Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Nyaan in Gundam franchise, Kanae Tawata in Solo Leveling franchise, and Stelle in Honkai: Star Rail. Crystal Lee also voiced Ne Zha in the titular series, Alexandrina Sebastian in Zenless Zone Zero and Gina in Solo leveling franchise. Shin Na-ri also voiced Sugar Glass Cookie in Cookie run franchise, Nicole Demara in Zenless Zone Zero, young Denji from Chainsaw Man franchise and Rumi from K-pop Demon hunters franchise.
Appearance[]
Clorinde's outfit consists of a dark blue bicorne, white dress shirt, a purple ribbon with gold and light blue accents that sits on her chest with her Electro Vision at the center and white gloves. She also wears a black corset with a light blue inner part and four golden buttons, black, high waisted shorts and nylon tights, with a black thigh garter on her on legs and black and white ankle-length boots with heels. Over her uniform is a short blue jacket that hangs off her shoulders.
Personality[]
As the Champion Duelist and formerly the bodyguard of Furina, she earned her reputation to be fearsome while holding her position as the strongest champion duelist which led many to those surrender when learning shes their opponent in a duel and has learned the old way of the Marechausse hunter that led her to further increase her proficiency in combat.
Ability[]
- Swordsmanship: Clorinde is a skilled swordswoman who wields a sword as her main weapon. Shown in the cutscene she uses the iron sting sword.
- Electrokinesis: The Electro Vision is the element she uses.
- Gunsmanship: Her gun is her sub weapon she uses alongside with her sword which she mainly uses in combat.
Trivia[]
- Clorinde may be named after one of several French naval vessels named Clorinde, most of which were from the first half of the 19th century, which is around the timeframe Fontaine takes inspiration from.
- Her name may also be a reference to the main character of the same name in the French tragic opera Tancrède. In it, the character of Clorinde (played by the famed opera singer Julie d'Aubigny) is killed by her lover Tancrède, who mistakes her for a man while she is disguised in armor.
- Clorinde wears a bicorne that is worn by men military officers, and sometimes by women such as Anne, Princess Royal.
