Clyde Langer is one of the main protagonists of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
He is played by Daniel Anthony.
History[]
When Clyde was very young, his father left him and his mother, leading to Clyde getting himself expelled from school for misbehavior. After Clyde and his mother moved from Hounslow to Ealing, Clyde started going to Park Vale School where he first met Maria Jackson and Luke Smith. He would later meet Luke's adoptive mother, Sarah Jane Smith, whom he helped to foil the Slitheen's plan to freeze the sun.
From that moment on, Clyde would help Sarah and Luke defend Earth from numerous alien invaders, including the Sontaran Commander Kaagh. When Maria Jackson left with her father, Rani Chandra moved into her address with her parents. Rani would go on to help Clyde and his friends defeat a child-stealing entity that lived off Sarah Jane Smith's fear of clowns. The entity would end up being defeated by Clyde's jokes as laughter weakened it enough for Sarah to imprison it in the piece of meteor that it originally arrived in.
After helping Luke defeat the Nightmare Man, Clyde parted from his friend when the latter moved to Oxford so he could go to University.
After Sarah Jane Smith was informed of the Doctor's death, Clyde and Rani joined her at the service, where they also encountered Jo Grant, another companion of the Doctor. Clyde would then find out that the Doctor was still alive and the Shansheeth were planning to use the funeral as a means to take his TARDIS from him. Clyde would then end up switching places with the Eleventh Doctor due to residual Artron Energy left over from their first encounter.
In his later life, Clyde worked on a comic called "The Silver Bullet", which he would eventually get published. At the New York, Comic-con, he was informed of Sarah Jane Smith's passing and he attended her memorial where he and the other guests helped to defeat the Trickster and the Jackals of the Backwards Clock. Once the service was over, Clyde and his friends returned to 13 Bannerman Road so they could close down the house where Sarah lived.
Once the house was closed, Clyde turned down the opportunity to turn his comic into a movie. In 2020, Clyde established the Unity Shelter Project, which involved opening shelters for homeless people.
During a trip to Los Angeles, Clyde was transported into the Memory TARDIS where Jo Grant told him about the time she encountered three versions of the Doctor.
