Cody Garrett Runnels Rhodes (Also known as American Nightmare, simply Cody Rhodes) is an American professional wrestler. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand as a babyface, and is the current Undisputed WWE Champion, recognized as both the WWE Champion and WWE Universal Champion in his first reign, which is actually his Universal Title.

He is the recurring antagonist from Past Flashback, the secondary antagonist from Legacy saga and the supporting antagonist from Original Timeline. He is the main antagonist who turns into recurring protagonist from AEW. Starting in 2022, he is the leading protagonist from Current Timeline. He is the secondary protagonist from 2023, the main protagonist from 2024 and the primary protagonist from 2025.

In Current Timelines, after Mr. McMahon introducing Seth Rollins to him, his hair color was now changed, dyed his hair blonde and he upgrades the long american jacket, blue pants and white boots. He has changed his new look since World Wrestling Entertainment of 2019.

He joined WWE's main roster in 2007 and throughout his WWE career, became a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a prolific tag team wrestler, winning eight world tag team championships. Following his departure from WWE in May 2016, Rhodes began wrestling on AEW and been named as an executive vice president.
2014 - 2019[]
He is a free-agent after getting released at WWE. He has a second gimmick, Stardust shortly until he gets fired at WWE due to dislike of his 2nd role, which at the point he joins AEW used to be an executive vice president but in TKO Saga.

With this, Cody gains a new achievement on his list, later on, He would gets mad and blames Roman Reigns that there is an Undisputed Title Match at WrestleMania 39, with Cody sadly losing thanks to the interference of Solo Sikoa.

He wins the 2024 men's Royal Rumble matches, becoming the fourth wrestler to achieve back-to-back victories at the event and the first since "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. But at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes won his first championship in the WWE as well as ending Roman Reigns' WWE Universal Championship reign of 1,316 days and finishing his story.
2025[]
In January 2025, Cody announces his Universal Title Defense at the Royal Rumble, with him winning the Match after eliminating Kevin Owens at last. With this, Cody gains a final achievement on his list, later on, he would gets angry John Cena that there is a Final Universal Title Defense at WrestleMania 41, with Cody sadly losing thanks to the interference of Travis Scott.
He resigns with WWE that He ever helps Jey to retains his World Heavyweight title against Cena and Logan. After Cena's retirement in WWE, in Sunday Morning to Afternoon, Cody loses it on security guards that they let The Beastman go after Nick is forced to betrays him that he was never reinstated, which ends in a rampage by the house. Nick loses it and dismays him that he ever stay away for telling McIntyre what to do, he will be forced to stripped his title, but he reveals he was doing this for The Audiences and he says he's not.
