Connor (Model RK800) (Aug 2038-15/8/2038 or 11/11/2038; determinant) is one of the three main protagonists (alongside Kara and Markus) of Quantic Dream's 2018 video game Detroit: Become Human.
He is the main protagonist on his story arc, one of the main antagonists of Markus's story (if Connor stays as a machine) or a major character (if Connor becomes a deviant). and a minor character in Kara's story.
He is an RK800 android helping the Detroit Police Force to stop other Androids who became deviants. He's later assign with a human partner, Hank Anderson, a police lieutenant who hates androids, to find the deviants, who have an obsession with the word "ra9". This places them in a conflict with Jericho, a deviant resistance.
Connor is voiced and motion-captured by Bryan Dechart, who also portrays Eli Chandler in Jane by Design.
Biography[]
Connor is the first character that players played as. Appointed by CyberLife to negotiate with another android (deviant) named Daniel, he can save a fish or leave it be. As he walks, he sees Caroline Phillips, who begs him to save her daughter Emma Phillips. When she saw that Connor was a android, she panicked and complained to the police about why they didn't bring a real person, screaming that she refused to let Connor approach her daughter. Connor can also try to save the cop on the terrace or leave him as he speaks with Daniel. He will also tell him that he can't die since Cyberlife can give him new form and reintegrate his memory. Connor can either sacrifice himself to save Emma, successfully negotiate with Daniel to release Emma (but the police will kill Daniel), shoot Daniel in the head with a gun that he found, or fail his mission completely as Daniel kills himself alongside Emma.
Later, Connor teams up with the homicide detective Hank Anderson, where the player can make his relation with Hank better or worse. Amanda, his superior in CyberLife, is another figure who assists him during his missions. Again depending on player's choices, Connor can also makes his relation with her better or worse. Hank and Amanda have opposing view on Connor's choice. Should Connor focus only on his mission, Amanda's relation with him will increase. With Hank, he wants Connor to follow his human conscience (eventually turning him Deviant) to increase their relationship.
Connor's first mission with Hank was to investigate an Android-turned-Deviant by the name Kara (Another player character and protagonist), who fled after defending herself and a young girl named Alice from their abusive owner Todd Williams. Connor can either fail or succeed in this task. Connor's next task was to hunt a deviant named Rupert, who ran away after an accident has killed his fellow android. After finding Rupert, Connor chases him on the rooftop. Connor was forced to make a choice: fail his mission and save Hank or capture Rupert of all cost. Connor chooses the former, making Hank grateful for him and making him more human in the process. Another Deviant homicide case happened at the Eden Club. After Connor fetches Hank from his home, the two then proceed to the investigation and discover a blue-haired Traci, who turned Deviant and killed her client after witnessing him kill her fellow Traci. In the end, Connor can decide to spare the Traci and her brown-haired partner, receiving praise from Hank telling him that he did the right thing or shoot them and get a sarcastic congratulations from Hank.
After Markus declared the Android revolution, Connor went with Hank to the Stratford Tower. He successfully investigated about what happened and discovered a Deviant in the Tower working for Markus. Connor either successfully neutralized the Deviant or sacrificed himself to protect Hank in this point. Later, the pair went to meet Elijah Kamski, the creator of Androids. Connor passed the "Kamski test", sparing Chloe while not getting information from Kamski in return. Hank later asked why he didn't shoot. Connor says that "he can't shoot after looking at Chloe's eyes" and angrily justifies his action when Hank said "doesn't your mission matter the most?" Hank, pleased by his action and this act, also proves that Connor is turning human for showing empathy and anger.
After getting the information from the deceased deviant android, Connor decide to disguise himself as a deviant to capture Markus. Connor penetrates the hideout called Jericho. When he finally confronts Markus, who tries to convince him to join them. The player can make Connor be a deviant himself or remain a machine at human service, due to his unstable software, Connor can choose turning Deviant instead, helping Markus, Jericho, and his race to safety.
Connor later volunteered to sneak into CyberLife Tower and freed the Androids stored there. He was confronted by another Connor sent by CyberLife, who was holding Hank hostage. Connor successfully rescued Hank and defeated the CyberLife Connor, while Markus himself successfully led the Android protest and gained freedom. Connor led his new brothers and sisters to Markus' side, successfully fending off Amanda's control and meet his father figure Hank in the end, smiling and hugging him, showing that he also has become a human.
Heroic Acts[]
NOTE: All of these acts are determined by the player's choice, and all can be avoided to become more of a villain than a hero.
- Saving the fish's life that is lying on the ground at the real beginning of the game by putting it back in it's tank.
- Saving a police officer's life that was dying on the rooftop during the hostage situation. Later on, Connor can reunite with this officer at Stratford Tower and he will thank Connor for saving his life.
- Stopping the deviant Daniel and saving his hostage, a human child named Emma's life either by killing Daniel, or sacrificing his own life. If Connor dies, another Connor will be sent as his replacement in his next chapter.
- Kindly buying Hank another drink at the bar when he first meets him to convince him to come with him to a crime scene.
- Not raising Carlos' android's stress level too high during the interrogation.
- Stopping the police officers from hurting Carlos' android.
- Showing empathy or concern for Carlos' android's life when he is imprisoned at the police station.
- Obeying Hank's orders and letting Kara and Alice go since they are victims who just wanted to be free.
- Saving Hank's life when he is in danger, rather than chasing the deviant Rupert, showing more concern for Hank's life than his mission.
- Sparing the deviant Traci couple and letting them go due to them being victims of sexual abuse and just wanting to be free together.
- Showing remorse or empathy if he kills the Tracis.
- Sacrificing his life to save Hank when the deviant at Stratford Tower is trying to kill people with a gun. Although some innocent humans die because of this choice. Also, Hank will be upset in Connor's next chapter, when the new Connor comes as the dead Connor's replacement due to the trauma of him dying in his arms, and their relationship slightly decreases.
- Grabbing a police officer's gun to kill the deviant at Stratford Tower, saving Hank and all the other human's lives.
- Sparing a Chloe's life at Kamski's place, even though he won't get any information from Elijah Kamski, showing more concern for her life rather than his mission.
- Becoming a deviant and betraying Amanda to go by Markus' side to help him liberate the androids. Although remaining a machine is somewhat justified if Markus is violent and has killed humans.
- Apologizing to Kara and Alice for chasing them if he becomes deviant and Markus is rejected by Jericho or dead.
- Freeing the androids stored at CyberLife Tower.
- Saving Hank's life from another Connor that kept him hostage at CyberLife Tower.
- Sparing Hank when he tries to stop him from killing Markus, or North if Markus is rejected by Jericho or dead, if he remains a machine. Although Hank will try to push him off the rooftop afterwards and if the player succeeds the QTE, Connor indirectly causes Hank to fall to his death. Failing the QTE will cause Hank to push Connor off the rooftop, but Hank will be alive.
- Choosing to jump off the rooftop to his death rather than fighting and killing Captain Allen and his human soldiers, if he remains a machine and Hank commits suicide.
- Sparing Markus, or North if Markus is rejected by Jericho or dead, if he remains a machine, betraying Amanda.

Trivia[]
- Connor can analyze substances by "taste". Though he stops this after Hank vocally calls it disgusting on two of their cases.
- He is the first Quantic Dream protagonist with a determinant moral alignment; all previous protagonists are always heroes, except Scott Shelby, who is always a villain.
- Model #313 248 317 - 60 Is bound to be a villain. Either the player remain a machine in order to die enough to become him, or fight against him as Deviant Connor in cyberlife tower.
- If Connor dies in every chapter that he possibly can in one playthrough, the player will be awarded the "I'LL BE BACK" trophy. The name of the trophy is a reference to the iconic catchphrase of the Terminator.
- Bryan Dechart and Pascal Langdale, who portrayed Ethan Mars in Heavy Rain, have stated that Ethan and Connor are similar because the player has the greatest control over their storyline and decisions when compared to the other characters.
- Connor is the most popular and most liked character in the fandom. When taking the survey in the game, they ask who your favorite character is (out of the three main player characters) and Connor has an overwhelmingly high percentage of votes.
- He is also the first and only character in Detroit: Become Human or in any Quantic Dream game to have an official action figure made of them (A Nendoroid figure by the Good Smile Company), if you don't count the statue of Kara that was included in the Collector's Edition of the game.
- Connor has moments that increase his deviance level and lead him to breaking free. Dying too many times and/or doing too many cold-blooded choices will decrease his deviant level, and the choice to become a Deviant will be locked. Not dying too much and doing most or all of the following choices will unlock the option to become Deviant:
- Seeing an android murdered after it surrendered
- Listening to Hank's order to not chase Kara and Alice across the highway.
- Saving Hank from falling off a bulding, over chasing the deviant android.
- Seeing an android commit suicide
- Sparing the Tracis at the club
- Admitting apprehension about ceasing to exist to Hank
- Feeling Simon die from suicide while connected to his mind.
- Sparing Chloe over killing her to get Kamski to offer information.
- Admitting confusion or quesioning the validity of Cyberlife trying to stop Deviants to his AI handler.
- Sympathizing with Markus's reasoning.
