Corey is the deuteragonist of the 1990 Television special Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue. She is Michael's younger sister, who becomes worried about her brother's sudden change in behavior. She spends much of the special trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with him.
History[]
One morning, Michael steals Corey's piggy bank while she is still fast asleep, Papa Smurf notices this and alerts all the cartoon heroes inside her room about the sudden theft. Half of the toons, consisting of Papa Smurf, Hefty Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Winnie the Pooh, Baby Kermit, and Slimer stay back and wake up Corey, alerting her about the theft as well.
When Corey begins to investigate around the house for her missing piggy bank, she confronts her brother Michael about it, discovering that he was the one who stole it. When she questions as to why he took it, he lies claiming that he was trying to fix it, when in actuality he was trying to steal her savings in order to buy some marijuana. Corey becomes frustrated with him, noting that if he needed money, he could've asked her first, but when she begins to question Michael's hostile behavior towards her, he leaves in frustration.
Later on, after most of the toons leave (save for Pooh) to help Michael fix his problem. Corey overhears her father complaining that several of his beers are missing from the refrigerator; implying that Michael likely stole them. Her mom however assures him that he likely drank them whilst watching football late at night. Her mom then notices Corey acting strangely, and asks if there is any problem. She replies saying no, to which her mom states that if there is any problem with her or Michael, they can always tell her or their father. Pooh suddenly comes to life in front of Corey, asking her why she didn't tell her mom about Michael's sudden change in behavior, to which she responds that she was afraid that if she told her, then Michael would get mad at her. But then Pooh states "What would happen if you didn't tell her?"
She then decides to confront her father and ask him about Michael's sudden change in behavior, to which he initially shrugs it off as typical teenager behavior and that Michael will eventually grow out of it, but when Corey pipes up claiming that she thinks that it is more than just a phase, her father becomes concerned and asks if there's a problem with Michael that he isn't aware of, but before Corey can explain any further she leaves, fearing that if she told on Michael, their relationship would be stained permanently.
Eventually, after Michael wakes up from his series of fantasies, she decides to confront Michael once more under Pooh's guidance. This makes Michael furious, telling her to stay out of his room. She states she wishes that to find out what Michael's problem is, as she wants everything to be like it was before this change of behavior of his, to which Michael refuses to respond, before threatening her by violently grabbing her wrist, nearly breaking it whilst warning not to tell their parents. This causes her to run off in fear, causing Michael to immediately regret harming his sister.
Corey builds up the courage to enter Michael's room once more, but discovers that he isn't there (as he was dragged into another fantasy by ALF). She finds a mysterious box lying on the floor, to which Smoke, who was hiding under Michael's bed during the time, takes advantage of this opportunity by trying to convince her to open the box. Pooh, aware that something isn't right, tries to warn Corey not to listen to him, to which Smoke decides to throw him inside a nearby cabinet. With Pooh out of the way, Smoke continues to tempt Corey to open the box, to which leaves Corey confused as to what's inside.
Eventually, Michael returns from his fantasy, and discovers Corey having opened his box of marijuana. He stops her from using the illegal substances, before telling her never to use that stuff. Corey states that he did it and thought by doing that they could become friends again, but Michael states that he was a dope in believing that drugs would help when in actuality they did the opposite. She then convinces Michael to stop using drugs, to which Michael responds stating that he doesn't know how. Corey responds by stating that Michael doesn't have to quit alone, and states that both their parents as well as herself will help him get over the habit. Smoke, now desperate for power, tries one last attempt to convince both siblings to take the drugs. However, Michael now aware that Smoke is in fact evil and fed up with his lies, throws him out of the house into a garbage truck.
As Smoke is taken away, he warns both siblings that he "can't be gotten rid of easily" and that he will return in the future. Michael becomes worried, aware that Smoke's parting words are for once true. However Corey assures him that if and when he returns, they alongside the cartoon heroes will be ready to stop him. Michael frees Pooh from the cabinet he was trapped inside, and the two siblings hug it out, before leaving to tell their parents about Michael's drug problem.
