Cossacks are the main characters of the cartoon series of the same name. They are three Zaporozhian Cossacks. Gry is the oldest, most experienced, cunning and skillful — tall, thin; Oko is the most accurate marksman — short, round, very cheerful and agile, all hung with a wide variety of weapons, ranging from pistols and ending with an eight-barrel Zaporozhye mortar. In case of danger, he runs ahead at high speed; Tur is the youngest and most simple—minded guy with a powerful physique and tremendous physical strength.

Biography[]

How the Cossacks Cooked Kulish[]

Oko, who went in search of tobacco, and other Cossacks are abducted by Crimean Tatars. Gry and Tur adventure into the citadel of the enemy, on the gate of which is written "Kafa", find the abducted in Zindan, free their friends and return home, at the same time taking bales of tobacco. At the end, the trio and other rescued Cossacks gather around the cauldron in which kulesh is cooking, Gry picks up a duck from the cauldron, tries to pierce it with a saber and shakes his head: "No, it hasn't boiled yet".

How the Cossacks Played Football[]

The Cossacks return from a trip and tell their comrades about the football match they attended in England. After learning that the winners receive an award from the hands of the British Queen herself, the Cossacks are inspired and decide to assemble a team. First they train, then they set off with a ball and without weapons to the west. Along the way, they meet Germans (in the image of stereotypical knights in armor of the 14th century) and French (Musketeers of the 17th century, their contemporaries). Both gather at stadiums with their teams to play soccer. The style of play of each team resembles national features — the Germans line up like a pig and stubbornly march towards the goal, pushing aside rivals (which is a reference to the Ice Battle). The Cossacks beat them with their speed and deft passes, which the Germans could not do because of their heavy armor. The Musketeers' game resembled ballroom dancing; the Cossacks countered them with their hopak and also won. Finally, the Cossacks arrive on the British island, where they play with a team of English gentlemen of the 19th century.

How the Cossacks Rescued the Brides[]

The Cossacks were chasing pirates who kidnapped five Cossacks. Pirates are also able to sail their ship from era to era. The chase takes you through colorful locations: Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, India, and ends in a pirate hut on a rocky island. Noticing that the drunken pirates are upset, the trio disguises themselves as musicians and plays cheerful dance melodies that are strikingly different from the dreary tavern songs and the slow-motion introductory part of the sirtaka from the music box, in which the jazzy Ukrainian dance, tango and letka music can be easily guessed. The pirates are thrilled. The disguised Cossacks lure the enemies into a trap and, together with the girls, safely leave the island on a pirate ship, as their canoe was wrecked. The island itself explodes due to the fact that the pirates, once in the powder magazine of their hut, start running and jumping, trying to free themselves.

How the Cossacks Bought Salt[]

The Cossacks cooked borscht, but they ran out of salt, but what's the taste without salt? They go to the fair, where they discover that the last of the chumaks who sold salt was taken away by an Evil Pan (a local robber feudal lord). In this episode, the Cossacks try to take the stolen salt to the bazaar, fighting off the Evil Pan and his servants. Almost the entire series is an energetic chase. In the end, the Cossacks bring the goods to the bazaar, and the villains are kicked out in disgrace, shooting each of them with salt in the fifth point. In gratitude, the chumaks give the rescuers a full bag of salt for free ("Take as much as you need!"), and Gry takes half a handful from there.

How the Cossacks Became the Olympians[]

The supreme Olympian god Zeus wants to stop the wars between the Greeks and establishes the Olympic Games. Ares, the son of Zeus and the bloodthirsty god of war, intends to disrupt their holding. Zeus complains about Ares to his older brother Hades, and the two cyclopes, on the orders of the lord of the underworld, arrest Ares. However, Ares, who is imprisoned, escapes from underground captivity with the help of King Sisyphus. But he will have to willy-nilly enter into a sporting contest with the Cossacks who took the side of the Olympians — to fence with Gray, fight with Tur and perform in a boxing match with Oko. After losing in boxing, the cyclopes take the unconscious Ares to the underground realm of the souls of the dead to Hades for the second time.

How the Cossacks Helped the Musketeers[]

The Cossacks help four French Musketeers deliver the casket of the Persian shah's daughter with tulips to the Dutch prince so that he can marry her. The prince (the son of the stadtholder) is the nephew of Anne of Austria, so the French court takes an active part in the fate of the Dutchman. The treacherous Cardinal Richelieu, who planned to marry the prince to his niece for the sake of the state interests of France, wants to thwart the queen's plans and, at the head of the guards loyal to him, sets off in pursuit of the Musketeers.

How the Cossacks Enjoyed the Wedding[]

In search of cherries for his beloved, the Cossack Tour gets to the forest scum in the tavern "Mill" (Ukrainian: "Mlin"), located in an old watermill. There he was cunningly put to sleep by a devil disguised as a tavern keeper. The leader of the crowd wants to take the soul of the Tour in exchange for the cherries. Loyal friends cunningly save the Cossack and defeat the evil spirits, after which they push the mill into the water, taking only the gramophone, and find a rich treasure under it.

How the Cossacks Met the Aliens[]

The Cossacks meet the crashed aliens, caricatured like themselves (small, long and strong). The alien flying saucer needs oil to return to its homeland. The sunflower and corn oil available to the Cossacks are not suitable, and in search of a suitable lubricant, the Cossacks travel around Europe with aliens: they protect a Bulgarian city from the Genoese, receiving a bottle of rose oil as a reward, then open hot water springs for ancient Roman thermal baths in exchange for olive oil. But none of the oils extracted by the Cossacks are suitable for the saucer engine. Then the company goes to Spain to buy some more "overseas" oil, and almost ends up on the bonfire of the Inquisition because of their voracious oxen, which destroyed the gifts brought to the Spanish king. Fleeing from Spain, the Cossacks discover that one wheel of their cart has creaked, and lubricate it with tar stored in a bucket. The aliens taste it and realize that this is the oil they needed. Having received tar from the Cossacks and given them gifts (a lighter, a stethoscope and a drill), they say goodbye to their earthly friends and fly away on their plate, which now has a bucket suspended from the back like a cart.

How the Cossacks Played Hockey[]

The Cossacks became the old fathers of the families. Meanwhile, the Canadian hockey team arrives in the homeland of the Cossacks to play a match with them. However, their uniforms are stolen by pirates, who go out on the ice disguised as hockey players and lose to the Cossacks with a score of 4:6. Eventually, the Cossacks drive the pirates away, and then arrange a farewell dinner in honor of the Canadians, and they leave.

The Cossacks. Around the world[]

Cossacks make a balloon and go on a journey on it. Soon they find themselves in the jungles of Australia, where the Cossacks get to know the local population and their culture. Cossacks save Australian animals from poachers by inventing a boomerang and a surfboard.

During the flood, the Cossacks are carried by the current to India, where they carry out cultural exchange with the local population. Interacting with the Indians, Gray teaches them to play the flute, the Eye to play chess, and the Tour frees the guy from slavery.

While digging a well, the Cossacks end up in the USA, where they explore the world of Hollywood filmmaking. The characters end up on a cooking show in which they accidentally come up with a burger recipe and win.
