|“||Their chief is Crom. He dwells on a great mountain. What use to call on him? Little he cares if men live or die. Better to be silent than to call his attention to you; he will send you dooms, not fortune! He is grim and loveless, but at birth he breathes power to strive and slay into a man's soul. What else shall men ask of the gods?||„|
Conan on the god of his people.
In Cimmeria, Crom was recognized as chief of the gods, although hardly worshipped in any traditional manner, as it was beleived that he saw prayer as either a nuisance or a sign of weakness, so he would kill anyone who asked for his help. It was abelived that he would give every Cimmerian strength and bravery upon their birth. he was asscoiated with storms, strength, and the lands and peopel of Cimmeria.
- Because of his similarity, and belonging to the same author, he might be the same as the deity Thak from Almuric
- In the 1982 film, Conan is seen praying to Crom, which is odd,as Crom is known for sending Dooms to anyone who asks for his help. Though Conan himself, knowing that the odds of Crom listening were slim to none, ended the prayer with "And if you do not listen... then to hell with you!"
