CT-4040, nicknamed "Cutup", was a clone trooper who served the Galactic Republic as a member of Domino Squad. He was eaten and killed by a giant eel on Rishi outpost.
He was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voices all the other clone troopers in Star Wars animated media.
History[]
Induction[]
Like all the other clones, he was produced from the genetic template of Jango Fett on the planet Kamino. He was trained on the planet Kamino in Tipoca City along with Domino Squad cadets Fives, Echo, Hevy and Droidbait. He was ultimately blamed for their failure, even though all of them did not get along and had a hard time cooperating. After an aggressive confrontation from his former trainer Bric, he was finally called something other than his number: Cutup. He thanked him for giving him his new name, and the next day, Domino Squad passed the Citadal test, which was the final exam, despite having their ascension cables sabotaged.
Death[]
Unfortunately, his time as a clone trooper would not last long. Due to the demands of battle, many inexperienced "Shinies" had to be sent to war before they had the chance to become good soldiers. While stationed on the moon called Rishi, the Confederacy of Independent Systems sent the elite BX-series Commando Droids to Rishi station. After Droidbait opened the doors to his death as Commando Droids stormed into the station, Cutup and his fellow Shinies were forced to escape through a ventilation shaft. While escaping with Hevy, Echo and Fives, a Rishi eel appears from a hole and eats Cutup. The others react by yelling "Cutup!" and shooting the eel to no avail.
Trivia[]
- Cutup dies as soon as the fifth episode of the series. The Season 3 episode "Clone Cadets" provides the backstory of Cutup, adding the lore that Cutup is a member of Domino Squad and not just a regular clone.
- This could've been a retcon since the clones did not react strongly to Cutup's death.
