Cyberpunk Penguin is a character in the game Tasty Planet Forever, who, like the other 7 characters you can play in the game, can eat anything smaller than itself to grow to an immense size. Unlike most penguins, this character had developed a mutation that enabled it to fly and grow in size when it eats.

Backstory

Born from a tiny green egg, this mutated penguin was born into a world of post-global warming chaos, in which humankind had continued to pump out carbon dioxide into the atmosphere with factories for further development. Further advanced in knowledge, the humans were able to create cyborgs and hover vehicles, such as hoverbikes, hover cars, hover buses, etc., although their cities are dirty and bleak in appearance, hence the name "cyberpunk." They had also learned to create floating islands to further disconnect with the Earth and live in their own "world", yet their carbon dioxide emissions still had an effect on the rest of the planet. As temperatures rose, many ecosystems around the world were collapsing, and even the Antarctic ice sheets had melted completely, leaving the penguins in a dire situation. With this mutation, this baby penguin has soon learned the ability to fly, a trait that no other penguins were able to achieve. Now, it flies towards the floating cities with one goal: to take down mankind and restore the broken environment.

Biography (Gameplay)

As the penguin flies into the city, it starts eating the smallest thing it can find, which are fruit flies, at around 2.3 millimeters in size. Eating the flies, it starts to grow bigger in size, until it can eat larger things, such as the sunflower seeds, grains of rice, and teriyaki sauce found on the ground of the polluted city. However, as it eats, it bumps into a black fly, which hurts it and shrinks the penguin a bit, a big weakness of not just the Cyberpunk Penguin but the other seven characters in the game. Pretty soon, the penguin soon grows big enough to eat butterflies and bats, and it is around when it is the size of an owl that the people start to take notice of the flying penguin. Although most don't mind the penguin, others are skeptic of it, especially the cyborgs, which try and attack it. However, when the penguin grows to about a meter in size, it has the capabilities to eat a person. Once they find out, both humans and cyborgs make a run for it, with the penguin chasing after some of them and eating them at once, most likely an act of vengeance for what the humans had done to the environment. Over time, as the level progresses, the penguin soon grows big enough to eat hoverbikes. Soon, the city becomes aware of the attacking penguin and tries to stop it. Hover Police Cars are sent to neutralize the penguin with laser guns, but the penguin evades most of their shots, while it starts to eat Hover Cars. Although hit a couple of times, the penguin soon grows big enough to eat the Hover Police Force, the city in a greater panic than before. As hover buses and hover garbage trucks become victims of the penguin's insatiable appetite, the futuristic city sends in their final line of defense, the Hover Tanks. Their efforts were short-lived, literally. Eventually, the penguin finally reaches the size of the apartment buildings in the city and consumes them, the city no longer standing a chance against the unstoppable penguin. Reaching to an immense size of around 565 meters, the penguin is large enough to eat the floating islands that humanity set themselves upon. In a matter of seconds, the network of islands disappear, and humanity's reign on Planet Earth is over.

Is it a Hero?

Despite the penguin's main goal of saving nature and restoring it to what it had once been, its means of doing so were of the utmost extreme method, as it had eaten a majority of humanity from the giant floating islands. However, it doesn't have the same mental capacity as humans would and its basic instinct of the goal set by nature would overpower any possible thoughts of remorse or regret, if any. In the end, although extreme, the Cyberpunk Penguin can be seen as a hero, at least in the eyes of Mother Nature.
