Hero Overview

Booyah!
~ Cyborg's most famous catchphrase.
It's not in the circuitry, is it? It's not the machine that resists you; it's me, my spirit! That's the part you can't break! I don't need you to make me a man! I already am one!
~ Cyborg to an overwhelmed Brother Blood.

Victor "Vic" Stone, mostly known as Cyborg, is one of the five titular main characters of the 2003 animated series Teen Titans, and the movies Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo, and Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans.

He is a half-cybernetic half-human former athlete and one of the five founding members of the Teen Titans. He is the oldest and tallest of the group and Robin's second-in-command, to the point of taking over as the leader whenever Robin is absent. He is also the best friend of Beast Boy. He was also briefly the leader of Titans East.

He was voiced by Khary Payton, who also voices his reboot incarnation, Drebin, Rafiki in The Lion Guard, and portrays Ezekiel from The Walking Dead.

Background[]

Cyborg was a promising strong teenage athlete named Victor Stone before an accident that killed his mother and injured him so severely. Fortunately, his parents were foremost experts in cybernetic enhancements, so they integrated their son with a variety of advanced robotic components in order to save his life. For quite some time afterward, he was despondent about his change, and even in the series, he remains somewhat unhappy with the loss of his normal life. But he retains a strong zest for life, and devotes himself to making the best of his situation, to the extent he usually appears much happier than Robin does.

Personality[]

As a person, Cyborg is a very outgoing and fun-loving character who likes to enjoy life, especially since he found friends who consider him a person, not a freak. He likes to enjoy playing video games, tinkering with technological gizmos and eating. He also tends to be stubborn and has had some serious arguments with Robin in the past, but he does make a capable second-in-command in Robin's absence. He also has frequent arguments with Beast Boy, mostly about the latter's culinary taste and habit of misplacing all manners of personal items, though the two entertain a close relationship.

One facet of personal vulnerability is Cyborg's great personal pride in his inventions and constructions. For this reason he tends to foster an immense dislike for anyone abusing his technology for selfish reasons, especially Gizmo and Brother Blood, and to be overprotective of his most personal projects, like the T-Car (as seen in Car Trouble, Deep Six, Wavelength, and Revved Up). He also possesses a tremendous appetite, and he will consume any edibles within his reach when hungry. His favorite food is barbeque, and the only food he would not voluntarily touch is tofu (especially since Beast Boy goes great lengths to try and make him eat that stuff).

Appearance[]

Cyborg is a half man and half robot. Likewise, he is tall, African and muscular man, whom his body parts replaced by robot parts. His light circuits are blue, and he has one red light in his right eye socket. He always has weapons in his system.

Powers & Abilities[]

Powers[]

Cyborg Regeneration

During his fight with Brother Blood, Cyborg became strengthened by his human spirit, allowing him to repair his damaged body with the part of Blood's drones

  • Cybernetic/Robotic Exoskeleton: A large part of Cyborg's human body was replaced with cybernetic implants encased in titanium plating. His brain has been sufficiently altered as to be immune to Brother Blood's psychic powers. This resistance to mind control does have limits though, as he was unable to resist Mother Mae-Eye's spell. He possess most normal human functions though, such as needing sleep, food, and has been shown being able to get sick. However, he does exhibit machine-like traits, such as needing an appropriate power source to keep his body running. The cybernetics bestow with the following abilities:
    • Superhuman strength and endurance. He once demonstrated that he was strong enough to pick up a whole building and swing it like a bat. He is known as a level 10 hero and the highest is 10. He is incredibly durable to harm, and resistant to adverse conditions like extreme heat, cold, and sea pressure.
    • High-end sensor, communications, and computational technology.
    • Producing several different tools (a chainsaw, a welding torch, a flashlight, etc.) from his arms. His fingers also have various optics and audio tools inside them.
Cyborg's Sonic Cannon

Cyborg firing his signature Sonic Cannon.

    • Cyborg's inbuilt offensive capabilities include his trademark Sonic Cannon (one in each arm), smaller sonic blasters located in his feet, two sets of missile launchers (one in each shoulder) and a couple of missiles in his chest..
    • He is capable of detaching both arms from his body, either attached to a cable as a grappling hook, or launched as flying projectiles. He is able to remotely control them once detached, making them useful for reconnaissance and surveillance.
    • At one point, he installed a super-processor chip called the Maximum-7 to further increase his abilities, but an overload forced Robin to remove it.
    • Cyborg cannot be mind controlled, because he is half-robot. Although, it seems magical-based mind control affects as seen with Mother Mae-Eye.

Abilities[]

  • Genius Intellect: Cyborg is an expert in the fields of mechanical engineering, robotics, physics and computer science. In addition to maintaining his own cybernetic systems, Cyborg is in charge of the technology within Titan's Tower, such as their security, analytic and electrical systems. He also invented his own specialized vehicle, which he dubbed the "T-car".
  • Leadership: At times, especially when Robin is absent, Cyborg has demonstrated excellent leadership and tactical capabilities, which came especially handy in the formation of Titans East. He holds charisma, and an enormous amount of willpower.
  • Expert Combatant: Cyborg is a highly skilled fighter. Spike noted him for having a "decent left hook", which he felt he needed to warn Atlas about.
  • Swordsmanship Skills: When was trapped 5,000 years in the past, he was shown to have remarkable swordsman skills as a warrior during the battle with Krall.
  • Bilingualism: Cyborg speaks his native English and learned to speak Tamaranean from Starfire while he was using the Maximum-7 chip.

Quotes[]

I got the sonic if you got the boom.
~ Cyborg to Robin.
Okay, I'm only gonna say this once... 'Booyah!'
~ Cyborg in Teen Titans origins episode "Go!"
Say, tool boy, while you're at it, why don't you shut off his big fat mouth?
He may have a better car, but I'm a better driver.
I always thought I was missing something, something I needed to become a man. My own tower, my own team. So Brother Blood was able to teach me one thing: I'm not missing a thing.
My name is Stone, and it looks like you need to find yourselves a new table.
Um, unless they tickle people to death here, I think you can chill.
I got enough juice for one shot, and that's all it's gonna take. I don't miss.
Oh yeah! Another good morning, another great day to be alive!
I am just like you, but it's not your arm that makes us the same; it's the stuff connected to it.
Xenothium?! You powered that suit with Xenothium?! Are you crazy?! That stuff is dangerous, and unstable! Tell me you weren't stupid enough to go messing with it!
I know you don't like it up here, but that's where Kole is. And we'll be there too.
Lesson number one! Never throw me down a hole unless you make sure I stay there!
At least she listens. I just kinda tune you out.
Give me my foot so I can kick your butt!
Let's go, unless you want to stay here goofing around with your girlfriend.
Well it's about time!.
When there's trouble, you know what to do - CALL CYBORG! He can shoot a rocket from his shoe - CYBORG! `CAUSE HE'S CYBORG! To the tune of something like that, oh yeah! Na na na na, big fluffy cat! That's right...!
