Doctor Daniel "Dan" Lewis is a major character in the 2018 Sony's Spider-Man Universe superhero spinoff film Venom and it's 2021 sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

He is a doctor who became the fiancé of Anne Weying after she broke up with Eddie Brock.

He is portrayed by Reid Scott.

Biography[]

Venom[]

Dan works in a hospital in San Francisco. He was introduced to Eddie brock by his girlfriend, Anne Weying. Later, Dan discovers the symbiote on examining Brock. Drake exposes Skirth to the remaining captive symbiote, killing both. This leaves the symbiote inside Brock as the only known surviving specimen.

In the Hospital, he informed Anne and Eddie that the parasite is killing him. When the symbiote was about to hurt Dan, Anne activated x-ray scanner to remove the symbiote. When Eddie left, Anne talked to Dan about Eddie's reaction until she realizes that the symbiote is gone.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage[]

Anne Weying tells Eddie she has to speak to him about something. She shows him a wedding ring, meaning she's got engaged to Dan Lewis. He later wents with Anne to Mrs. Chen's market to call Venom to help Eddie

To make matters worse, Kasady took Mulligan hostage, and Barrison captures Weying after failing to find Brock. Barrison gives Lewis information on Weying's whereabouts, and he gives it to Brock.

Dan himself showed up at the Cathedral as well and, just as Venom and Carnage were fighting, doused Carnage with burning gasoline from one of the upper floors. Hearing Carnage and Cletus screaming in pain, Frances rushed to see what was happening just as Dr. Lewis ran out of gas. The fight between the symbiotes ended in Frances falling to her death while Cletus and the Carnage symbiote were both eaten by Venom. As police reinforcements arrived, Eddie, Dr. Lewis, and Anne fled the cathedral. Anne told Venom to get Eddie as far away from San Francisco as possible. Manifesting its head, Venom tells Dr. Lewis to take care as well.

Eventually, a Brock, Venom, Weying, and Lewis manage to escape.
