Sister Danica was one of the main protagonists of Pariah Nexus, an animated series set within Warhammer 40,000. A member of the Adepta Sororitas in the Order of Our Martyred Lady, Danica was the sole survivor of her platoon that was wiped out during the Necron invasion of the planet Paradyce. While every single bit the aggressive zealot that many of the Sisters in her order are, Danica was not without compassion, but extreme strenuous circumstances had left her having a severe crisis of faith and becoming incredibly bitter and hostile towards even those she was sworn to protect.
Personality[]
As a proud member of the Order of Our Martyred Lady, Danica is violently loyal to The Emperor of Mankind, religious to the point of being a fanatical zealot, and extremely xenophobic towards non humans. She firmly believes if a victory is easy, it is not a victory at all, and was stubborn in her beliefs to a fault. Refusing to retreat even when it was the most logical and safest choice, her defiance would ultimately cost her the lives of her entire platoon, something that left her psyche badly damaged. From this moment onward, Danica would always be accompanied by the guardsman that served as her right hand, but since she perished in the battle, she was actually a hallucination made manifest from Danica's own crumbling faith and immense survivor's guilt. The guardsman would regularly try and act as a moral compass for the increasingly unhinged Sister of Battle, trying to keep her from crossing the line into villainy and cruelty due to her insanity. This would finally come to a head with Danica aggressively lashing out at the refugees she and Sa'kan were escorting, with the guardsman reflecting her own fears to her face where they could no longer be ignored. After finally coming to terms with her actions, guilt and remorse, Danica would finally become the protector she was always meant to be again and vowed to get the refugees to safety, but tragically she was then immediately killed by a Necron Deathmark. Her death would be avenged when Sa'kan hunted down and finally killed the badly damaged Deathmark while it was distracted by communicating with Illuminor Szeras, having inflicted "injuries" moments after killing the Sister of Battle.
