~ Daniel after reuniting with the group. |
Daniel is one of the five main protagonists of the Dark Pictures - Little Hope. He is the boyfriend of Taylor and the reincarnation of Dennis by Anthony Clarke.
He is voiced and motion captured by Kyle Bailey.
Biography[]
Daniel is first seen after the bus crashes in Little Hope and the group makes their way into town. There, he and Taylor split up from the group and head towards a supermarket, encountering ghosts from the pas and reuniting with the others outside the police station. They get separated from the others and walk along the witch trail. They enter a witchcraft museum and then an old neighborhood where Taylor's double is killed and the demon chases them to the church, where they regroup with John and Anthony. Inside, Daniel sees his double get executed and is attacked by his own demon. The group escapes into the woods.
Daniel and the others can possibly reunite with Angela, if she is still alive, and enter the Little Hope abandoned textile factory where Daniel faces his demon one last time, possibly escaping or getting killed. Inside the Clarke House, if Mary is executed or if Daniel still has any locked traits, he will be killed by his demon. If Daniel survived the night, he will leave Little Hope and either reach a restaurant or witness the police arresting Andrew. Either way, Daniel is then shown to have been a hallucination of the bus driver, Anthony.
Personality[]
Daniel is shown to be polite and considerate through his protective nature for Taylor, trying to help her when she is attacked by her demon; or his friendship with Angela and making sure she's alright after the crash. When facing his own demon, he is shown to be resourceful as he will use anything he can find to defend himself from the demon's attacks.
Like the other protagonists, Daniel represents one of Anthony's deceased family members. Daniel represents Anthony's late older brother, Dennis. Daniel is meant to contrast Dennis' aggressive and reserved attitude by being friendly and outgoing (implying Dennis had a hidden good side, or used to be a kind person). Similar to Dennis, Daniel is especially close and caring towards Tanya's counterpart Taylor. By the end of the story, Anthony subconsciously reconciles the person his brother was, either condemning him or absolving him. Daniel either loses to his demon and dies Cowardly and aggressive, or overcomes his demon and emerges protective and heroic.
