~ Danny's most epic line

Danielle "Danny" Zakarewski is the tritagonist in the 2019 film Gemini Man. She's a Navy veteran and DIA OIG agent who saved protagonist Henry Brogan from assassination attempts on him by GEMINI.

She is played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who also played Wendy Christiensen in Final Destination 3, Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Michelle in 10 Cleveland Lane, Lucy McClane in Live Free or Die Hard and A Good Day to Die Hard, and Huntress in Birds of Prey (and the Fabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn).

Biography[]

Prologue[]

Danny first meets retired assassin Henry Brogan when he stops to buy a boat at her port, where he recognized Danny as a DIA OIG agent. They quickly become friends, and one day Henry warned Danny about the attacks on his house from assassins and that they manage to kill the assassins sent after them, learning they're from a top-secret black-ops unit called "GEMINI" that wants them both dead.

Mystery of a clone[]

Henry and Danny travel east to meet Henry's old colleague Baron and make an appointment with Yuri Kovacs before flying to Cartegena. Clay Varris, the head of GEMINI and an old friend of Henry's, sends his youngest assassin to kill Henry. The younger assassin flees back to GEMINI and is revealed to be Clay's adopted son, Junior.

Henry is puzzled by the similarities between him and Junior, whom Danny assumes his son, though Henry insists he was never married. Danny uses the DNA samples she collected from Junior to run a DNA test. The test comes out that Henry and Junior's DNA is identical, which is how Danny figures out that Junior is Henry's clone.

Henry, Danny and Baron later go to Budapest on an appointement with Yuri. Wanting to save Junior from the abuse of being used as a weapon by GEMINI, he arranges with DIA director Janet Lassiter to have Junior deliver Danny back to the United States. Junior. Junior goes to the museum to set a trap for Danny, who informs Henry via a covert listening device hidden in her tooth. Henry arrives and tells Junior that he's a clone, asking him about their shared traits.

Henry and Junior then start to fight while Henry doesn't want anyone, including Danny, to shoot and kill Junior even at the last minute. Junior returns to GEMINI to expose his "father"'s lies and abuse, foreshadowing his eventual betrayal and defection, while Henry and Danny go back for Baron.

Final skwimish and epilogue[]

Baron takes them to Georgea to look for GEMINI. Junior stalks Henry and near-fatally shoots him with a dart spiked with bee venom while finding a truck. Junior sympathetically offers Henry epiphenine before they all get in the truck and drive to GEMINI. Clay tells Junior to get out of Henry's car, but Junior defies his words. Because of this, Henry, Junior, Danny, and Baron were stopped by Clay and his forces. Baron is killed by a flamethrower at the truck. Henry and Danny disarm two GEMINI operatives and Henry tells Danny to watch her ammo count and eliminates the rest while Junior fights with Clay on the rooftop where Junior knocks him unconscious.

With one round remaining, they gets ambushed by Senior, a clone that doesn't feel pain or emotion and Clay, who has regained consciousness. Henry, Junior, and Danny fight the clone and manage to defeat him. Henry unmasks the clone and discovers that he looks similar to Junior. Clay tries to justify his actions to the team, but Junior attempts to kill him for his lies and abuse. However, Henry takes the gun from Junior and uses it to kill Clay, avenging Baron.

Six months later, Henry enrolls Junior, now named Jackson Brogan after his mother's maiden name, into college and applies for his IC, passport, and driver's license.
