Danny Butterman is the deuteragonist of the 2007 action comedy drama, Hot Fuzz. He became the police constable at Sandford under his father Frank's orders and to safeguard his son. After meeting Nicholas Angel, Danny began to change for the better and assisted Nick while investigating the coincidental accidents in Sandford.
He is played by Nick Frost, who also plays Ed from Shaun of the Dead.
Personality[]
Danny is introduced as a slacker who coasts by due to being appointed by his father, who is the Chief Inspector. As such, he was shown to be reckless and rude and openly flouting the law, like driving when drunk despite it being a major risk, as well as being short-tempered. Despite this, Danny showed an introspective mind, such as connecting the accidents in Sandford and faking him murdering Nick using ketchup, skills he learned from watching action movies.
Biography[]
Danny is the son of Frank Butterman and Irene Butterman, who was the head of the women's institute. Several years before the movie, Irene supposedly met with an accident, but actually, she committed suicide after Sandford lost the "Village of the Year" despite her minute preparation, a fact only Frank knew.
